QUANTICO, VIRGINIA

____

"Do you have your phone?" Holly looks at her thirteen year old son, Daniel, questioning. The boy has a packed bagpack in front of his feet, standing in the living room.

At his mother's question, he reaches into his jacket pocket, holding the flip phone up. "Right here, mom."

Holly nods, looking her son up and down. "And you are really alright with this?"

Danny nods. "Yeah. I see how much you miss it. It will be good for you to get back and do your thing."

Holly sighs, nodding at her son. "Alright. So let's go over the plan again"

Daniel groans. "Mom, we've been over this a million times already. I stay with dad for the weekend, and when you get back to your job and get called on a case, I'll stay with him for longer. I got it, mom, it's gonna be fine."

"Okay, good. And you got all your stuff?" Holly looks down at Daniel's bag, then back at his face. The brunette boy nods quickly. "Yeah, I got everything. My Nintendo, enough underwear, T-shirts, pants, toothbrush, hairbrush, shampoo-"

"Okay, I get it." Holly laughs, interrupting her son's annoyed tone while counting the things in his bag.

She grabs Daniel's bag from the ground, giving it to him, before grabbing her own small bag, from the couch. "Come on." Holly leads Daniel out of the front door to the black chevy, both getting inside.

Dylan Michaels and Holly Jackson have been engaged until Daniel was four. They split up after realising that they don't work out as good as they thought, and before both ended up being Toxic, they decided to break it off, but still co-parent Danny. They switch every two weeks, each getting him for that time, before he goes back to the other.

So far it has worked out, quite alright, with both parents still living in the same city, there wasn't a big problem with bringing Danny over to the other.

Danny himself doesn't really have much of a problem with it either, knowing that he has still both parents in a walkable reach, and nothing really changes, except the house and parent, when he switches between them.

Holly stops the car in front of Dylan's house, looking to the passenger seat at her son. "Remember, you can call me if you have problem, if you need help with you homework, or anything, alright."

Daniel nods, looking at his mother. "Yes."

"I don't know if I will be immediately put back in the field. My boss says that they might have to do some tests on me, before I am allowed back completely. Which still doesn't necessarily mean that I won't tag along. But if there isn't a case, which I think it won't, 'cause they won't let me leave until I fill out all the paperwork, I see you in the evening, okay?" Holly looks at her son softly, hands on the steering wheel. Daniel nods with a small smile. "You're gonna be fine mom. I know that you need to get back to work, you're dying at home."
