Season 3, Episode 11

'Birthright'

____

After a few days of getting back into the job, which was easier than Holly first thought, except for the tons of paperwork, and the examinations that had to be done, she is officially back. In the time of these days, the serial killers seem to lay low, as if they wanted a new-old member to get back in the game.

To sum up the past days were rather calm.

But all that quickly changes, when a case came in. The new sheriff of the Frederickburg police department, request the BAU.

Holly now sits inside the conference room, next to Dave and an empty seat. JJ enters the room, files in her hands. "Everybody's here. Sorry I'm late."

She stops at the free spot next to Holly, putting the files down. JJ grabs the remote of the table, for the TV behind Holly, while the older blonde turns her chair, to see the screen properly. "Last night I'm Fredericksburg, a 20-year-old woman," A picture of a dark haired girl shows. "Molly McCarthy, was abducted."

Two other girl's pictures appear on the screen. "She's the third to go missing in the last six weeks. All disappeared from public places. No one's seen them since."

"Until now." Dave comments, making Holly nod in agreement.

"Couple days ago, body parts with cigarette burns were discovered from a national park, which was once the site of the Battle of Chancellorsville." JJ continues showing pictures of the site.

"Were they able to make an ID?" Hotch asks JJ. The blonde walks back to the table. "It was the first victim taken six weeks ago. Decomp indicated that she had been dead just over a week."

"So, he likes spending time with them." Hotch concludes. Holly scratches her nose, before pointing at the decapitated arm on the screen. "How did she end up like that?"

JJ looks at the other blonde answering. "M.E. found microscopic tool marks on the bone."

"I remember reading about a case like this in Spotsylvania County, similar marks on the bone." Spencer states. JJ takes over for him, taking the teams attention to the TV. "It was the winter of 1980, also Fredericksburg. Five women, 16 to 24. Buried in pieces, same markings, same Civil War battlefield."

"Killed the same time of year and left at the same dump site?" Dave asks.

"It's like an anniversary." Morgan concludes.
