Escaping The Castle

Zim sighed as he sat bored on the smaller throne next to the two, very noticeably larger ones next to him. Of course his life would be hard as the last prince of King red and Queen purple, but he didn't think it'd be THIS hard! All eyes were CONSTANTLY watching him. From behind, the sides, the front, the ceiling; for irks sake even the tunnels below the floor and the walls were full of hidden cameras! Anywhere he went there were always at-least five more Irkens following him, even in his own room. Whenever he'd sleep there'd be the constant clanking of armor from the soldiers watching him sleep, (which was creeping enough!). When he ate all eyes were locked onto him, ready to pounce if the prince even dared cough just a little. If he was sick he was practically operated on, he wasn't allowed outside or to attend regular events. And this was his least favorite thing to do. Sit next to his parents in the most uncomfortable bright red robe they could offer him, and just listen while they debate with all the bachelors about who to arrange him to marry. It was ridiculous! Shouldn't he have his own say in who he wanted to have smeets with? Besides, he wasn't interested in having a relationship. Not just yet.

Zim got up and immediately purple yanked him back with his hand, almost crushing the smaller one of the two. "Where are you going? Who are you going to be with? If you eat food make sure it's not poisoned and is in small bites. Don't go to sleep! You never know what someone is plotting..." is what Zim expected his mother to say, but all Purple said was "Be careful, don't get lost." That was agreeably better than most of the things he'd heard from her, so that was fine with him. Zim walked down the stone halls with the tapestry's of golden and red silk, lined with royal purple and silver banners next to them. Portraits of the royal family, and..... a Vortian at the end of the hall? Zim could've sworn he'd just seen a small deer tail dash out of sight around the further left corner of the hallway. He shrugged and continued walking. Finally, once he had reached the red and gold framed door that signaled the prince's royal chambers, he happily walked in and fell onto his bed. "Arghhhhhhh...." He grumbled. "All of this.... Mess! Sho cares!? Let them all die! Die! Die! Die! End them all!" Zim continued to rampage against his bed and his imaginary enemy's that he pictured in front of him as he clawed the air before being knocked down out fo no where. "HEY! Who was that!? I demand you to show yourself!" But when Zim looked for his attacker, all he found was a knocked down picture of him and his parents, his older sister and younger brother who had been killed in the middle of the war, and.....

Oh my..... Zim picked up the photo and ran his fingers over the dust ridden photo, making sure to feel over Tenn and Zak's silhouettes in the photo. It felt like just yesterday, all of them were laughing. Tenn, talking about her victories at training, Zak, even though adopted, being as proud and courageous as Tenn was. What a shame... He set the frame back onto the desk and thought for a moment. "I hate this place, I hate them.... THEM MOST OF ALL! " 'Them', being the Vortians who had caused the death of most of his relatives. He growled and got up, ripping the robe he was wearing to shreds. He ran to the closet and put on some black leggings and knee high boots under the shredded 'used to be robe but now shirt' he had on. He picked up a backpack full of stuff and dumped all of its contents on the floor. Pens, books, papers, crowns, treasure of all kinds, all on the floor. A few things he put back in though, like the pens and books he had kept. He grabbed the picture of his family, stuffed it in the bag, and got some stale bread and soda he had kept on his dresser and of course, put it in the bag. He zipped it up and put the now heavy satchel on his bag, meanwhile a watching Vortian that appeared not visible to the young prince watched him contentedly. "Wow... the prince will do my job for me! Nice!"  Zim went to the side of his room where the whole wall was stone, pushed down on one that was a hidden button and the wall before him crumbled, revealing a dimly lit staircase. Zim may not have been the only to know about it, but it wouldn't take long for his dads worrying soldiers to find out he'd gone missing. Zim quickly ran down the staircase but tripped and started to tumble down. He reached the bottom and in a haze, felt his aching head, looking at his hand covered in bright pink blood. "SHIT!" The Vortian thought. As soon as he was sure Zim had blacked out, he picked him up and quietly walked him out of the castle. And that, is how Zim's little romance, had just begun.

Through stairs.
