Bright- I'm not gonna take the cure.
"I've decided!" I announced as I entered the living room.

"What?" Mike was the first to say.

"I'm not gonna take the cure. I can't do that to him. I can't risk his life by taking it. He is already a broken kid. I won't be selfish with Win." I tell them all. Everyone looks at each other with a slightly confused face.

"So.....you don't want to become human?" Gulf stands up and asked and I nod.

"You're not the only one with news." Mike lets out a huge sigh.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"Your perverted brother is gone." Ayu breaks the news.

"What? Well...where is he?" I asked her.

"He left a note that says he is going back to his master. He doesn't want to see you again in the next life." Ayu tosses the note to me and I read it.

"What do we do? Go hunt for him?" Mew suggested.

"No, if he going back to master then.......that's fine. He is probably already across the world by now." I tell them.

I can't believe Phukong left without saying goodbye. After assuming he was dead for so long and now he is gone again. I should've just been honest from the beginning.

"Since none of us can't take the cure then what do we do?" Gulf suddenly asked.

"There are hundreds of vampires across the world looking for it so, all we can do is protect it." I finally come up with.

"So we are going to protect the kid?" Mew asked and I nod.

"Hell no!" Ayu blurted. "I am not going to babysit your boyfriend Bright. That is your job and having us look after him, will only draw more attention. We will be putting him in more danger." She stands up.

"Ayu come on. He's the cure." Mike tries to reason with her.

"And none of us is taking it. I'm sorry Bright but I am not taking it. You guys are on your own." She states as she whooshes away.

"She's always been like this." Mike tells me.

"What's wrong with her?" I asked them.

"Ever since the rumor started, she's been moody about it. She doesn't want us to become human because she thinks we are going to leave her forever." Gulf admits to me.

"I told her to take the cure with us so we can all be together but no, she prefer being a vampire best." Mike says as he grows annoyed with the topic of it. "I'm going to smoke." He announced as he leaves to go outside.

"Bright, we understand your decision and we agree. If none of us can't take the cure......then we will protect it." Gulf finally agrees and I give him a half smile. I look at Mew as he nods as well.

"Thank you guys so much." I tell them as I begin to leave.

I'm going to find Ayu because I understand how she feels. Taking the cure is not even an option for us anymore but I just need her to understand that no matter what happens, we will never leave her. She could be suffering trauma from before. I search everywhere in the house and my last resort that she might be at is the rooftop. I climb out through my window to see her with knees in her chest.

"How did I know I would find you out here?" I approach her. Ayu turns as she wipes some of her tears away.

"What are you doing out here? You should go inside." She tells me as I chuckle at her.

"I thought you hate being alone. Do you really want me to go?" I asked her. I know she doesn't, she likes me more than the others.

"Why does everyone want to be human so bad?" She asked me and I sigh.

"Well why do you want to be a vampire?" I questioned her beck.

"Because it's easier. You don't grow old, you have cool abilities, and we can never get hurt." She tells me and I nod slowly.

"But does it cure would happen to you in the pass?" I asked her.

"Clearly it doesn't. That's why I hate my human self so much. When I became a vampire, I changed." She tells me.

"I don't hate myself but I hate that I have hurt people when I'm this way. We became killers and that's not who we are. Being human isn't about just growing up and dying, it's about.......experiencing changes in life. We all had it bad back then but all of it is over now. Everyone wants to rewrite their stories again. If we stay as vampires, we are just extending this long forever story without an end." I explained to her. She's just look downs.

I lean in close to her as I kiss her cheek. She flinches as she touches her cheek.

"If you're boyfriend ever found out that you kissed me, he would kill you." She tells me as I laugh.

"It's a good thing that he knows I don't like girls. Come on, I'm comforting you." I tell her. I bring Ayu close in as I wrap my arm around her shoulder while she rest her head on my shoulder.

I can feel that she is crying again and that's okay. This is a safe place for her to cry. She maybe 317 years old but she is just a little girl still.
