Hyrule POV:
Roads are weird.
That's all I have to say. Sure they're useful- for a wagon. But for me, they were more of an annoyance. There I am wandering around Hyrule, fingers brushing against the tall grass my lungs filled with pine air then BAM an ugly dirt road, standing out like a wine stain on a white dress.
I sighed
At least it was expected- I was on my way to a more people person area.
You see I don't mind people. I love people, I just find it hard to fit in with them. Not to mention they're all like oh, hero of hyrule! Mr. Hero, what a pleasure. Can you kiss my baby? It bugged the crap out of me. I didn't want nor deserve the attention. Most of my heroics were dumb luck and a few heartfelt prayers to Hylia. Of course, the Princess helped as well- in her way.
But today I needed to go to the Market. I was running out of the draft for my healing potions. I used my last one recovering from a fight against a Blue Octrock. I hated those monsters. Even after the tales of my fierce heroics spread they never seemed to back off.
I held my hand over my head to shield myself from the bright sun as I looked towards the western horizon to see a cluster of buildings not far from the field he stood on. I reluctantly lumbered off the field and placed my foot on the road. Instead of the rough dirt, I felt my foot connect with dark sludge. I sharply inheld and tried to pull my foot back but the sludge pulled me under and I lost my footing. A portal of malice caught my fall.

I tried to open my eyes but I physically couldnt. I heard growling and screeching. I tried to cover my ears, but my arm refused to comply. Then as soon as the malice swallowed me it spat me out. Lumping me in on what felt like a dirt road- this road, however, didnt swallow me.
I felt the sun blazing on me and I opened my eyes to be met by one other person. He was on the road beside me and he was dead.
Wars POV:
My day was going bad enough before a green popsicle stick was screaming in my ears.
There I was minding my own business traveling back to the castle when I got swallowed up on a road in a pool of malice. Right in front of my squadron of knights- truly unbelievably humiliating.
Now I wish I would have been left alone in the quiet to die. But its hard to peacefully sleep when a child is freaking out next to you.
I opened my eyes.
"OH, MY HYLI- I thought for sure you were a goner!"
"Not yet," I said and pushed myself up on my elbows to get a better look at my new harasser.
He had brown hair and cow-like eyes, his pointy ears moved up and down as he flustered over me. The only thing we had in common was our green attire. Though he was accompanied by various elixir vials and bandages. I caught a glance at a knife strapped to his right arm and a simple sword sheath on his back. He was also rather short.
He was the opposite of me.
I stood up using my core, and brushed off my green tunic and made sure my navy scarf was intact.
'Hey not to bother you," said the boy beside me. "But where am I?"
"Funny I was going to ask you the same thing"
I looked around. We were on a path in the middle of a birch forest. Only the sun was visible above us. The rest of my view was blocked by foliage.
"What is your name?" I asked trying to make some sense of all of this.
"Uh Link" He answered looking up at me.
