Jennie basically skipped all the way home with rosy cheeks. At this point, the blush might as well be permanently imprinted on her face.

I am falling too fast, again. She reminds herself. The faster she entered the world of the infatuated, the more she would get attached to Lisa. To her, attachment was a nightmare. She remembered the affection she had towards her dad only for him to leave like it had all been worthless.

She wished she knew what went wrong.

If she was going to do herself a favour, she would be abiding by the 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' rule that she made for herself when she was twelve. But she couldn't stay away from Lisa, moreover the arcade. Knowing that Lisa only goes to the arcade to find her, makes her own feelings naturally harder to avoid.

It was hard.

But she was only twelve when she stuck by that rule, now she was eighteen. How realistic would it be then?

I have to call Rosie. Jennie thought.

Rosie, more like Roseanne, or Rosé for short, was Jennie's best friend in high school. The two girls had many things in common like, having a thing for girls, but music hits different. They'd stay up till five in the morning during sleepovers covering all sorts of pop and acoustic songs. They were sort of inseparable.

Jennie's phone rang first however, just when she was about to pick it up to dial the number.

[Wifey, you'd never guess what happened to me earlier today!] The platinum headed chirped.

A smile was automatically lifted off the brunette's lips when she hears the latter's sweet sweet voice, it was a huge part of Jennie's comfort.

"What's up, this time?"

[This time?? When was the last time I was this excited about something? Like a year ago when my dad sent a sad box of Aussie peaches over after avoiding all my calls and texts? Oh, please. This time it's a totally different situation.]

"Alright, moving on?"

[Impatient ass. Anyway, when you were at the arcade right after school in the afternoon today, I dropped by my usual bookstore to stock up the rest of my 'Bad Blood' series and there was this super hot girl that I have not seen once before at the store eyeing the same series as mine! If I see her there the next time, it must be fate.]

"Hubby, you're leaving me for another girl? Oh come on! Once you start dating, we won't have weekend sleepovers anymore!"

[Jen, it's not that serious. You know how much of a slow-witted church girl I am, I'd make friends with her first and see where that goes. Yes, she's hot, but I'm looking for a stable relationship.]

"Stable relationship? You haven't even been in a relationship before. What if your 'stable' turns out 'unstable'?"

[What the flippin' hell, Wifey, you haven't been in a relationship before either. Who do you think you're trying to lecture?]

"So what, like are you going to get her number the next time you see her at the store?" Jennie ignores herself getting busted.

[Depends if I'll have the guts. She isn't exactly my type, but her looks are surely out of this world.]

"Your types are always fluctuating, it actually gives me a headache sometimes."

[Well trust me, you'd feel the same if you saw her.]

"Sure thing," Jennie giggles, cuddling in the sheets of her bed ready for a goodnights sleep after her wholesome conversation with her best friend.
