❝ I'VE GOT THIS SHAKE IN MY LEGS, SHAKING THE THOUGHTS FROM MY HEAD ! ❞

CRYING WAS THE only thing [B.Name] could do in his situation, the sight of his parents fighting in his brother's house, trashing everything in their wake as they argued for how many times now.
It was frustrating and he wanted it to end, he wanted his brother to take him away from them and buy him ice cream, watch cartoons with him, help him with homework.
He didn't want to see or hear his parents physically and verbally try to maim each other, a child like him should never be part of an environment so hazardous as that.
Yet here he was, crying behind the large sofa of his brother's living room, holding his knees close to his chest as he waited for his brother to come home. It felt centuries as the little kid tried his hardest to block out the sounds of his parents' screams, yet with every glass they broke, he flinched.
[B.Name] had only stopped sobbing when a familiar pair of arms wrapped around his body, the scent of coffee and caramel pulling him out of his thoughts.
"[M.Name]?" he shakily whispered, his [e/c] eyes searching for his brother's warm smile. "I'm here. I'm home." the older said, hugging the child tighter.
[M.Name]'s heart ached at the sight of his brother hiding and crying while their parents neglected him, it reminded him too much of his younger self.
"Go to my room, put on my headphones and listen to music. Is that okay? Can you do it? I promise I'll go upstairs once I'm done talking to them."
The younger looked up at the older for a few seconds, he hugged him tightly before nodding and letting go, climbing up the stairs and shutting the door to [M.Name]'s room.
Once he was sure that his brother was out of earshot from their parents, he quickly set down his things and barged in the kitchen, anger and adrenaline surging in him.
"Will the two of you ever stop fucking fighting!?" he yelled, the two adults had stopped fighting and looked at him with furious glares, a pin-drop silence enveloping the three of them.
"What the fuck did you just say to me, boy?" the older male taunted, balling up his fist and yanking the younger by the collar. "Say it again you fucking disappointment!" he screamed at his face, the putrid smell of alcohol entering [M.Name]'s senses.
