A tall man walked along the streets of the bustling city. His confident large strides and big build made people subconsciously make way for him. It was Gendro who was currently on the way to meeting Melly to help her deal with the newly freed slaves.
He was off duty so he didn't carry his usual sword, only his spare, and wore a normal linen shirt and pants, no armor whatsoever. It was already late afternoon and he sped up his steps. Knowing Melly, she was probably already there, but he still didn't want to be too late.
When he arrived, the sun was already close to the horizon, but he made it in time. He stepped inside the building and skillfully walked to the place Melly was most likely to be.
"Look who also made it."
"Am I too late?"
"Hm, not really"
Saying so Melly shrugged. They were currently in the corridor where the living quarters of all the people were. Together, they went to the far right door. It was the room, where Nala and the likes were staying.
On the door was a little window, so you could look inside the room.Inside the room, you could see the rabbit women playing with Zoe while Nala sat on the ground and talked to Fynn. The rest was still sleeping.
<clack>
Hearing the door open, they looked up in surprise, a trace of vigilance in their eyes.
"Good evening everyone! Dinner is about to start, so we would like to wake you all up. And.. oh right, this is Gendro if you don't already know, the Knight captain from Yesterday, or should I say this morning?"
Melly shrugged at her words, and the beastmen slowly stood up and walked to the beds where the others were sleeping and started waking them up.
Gendro did a quick headcount, he could see the little girl, Zoe, he could see Fynn, Nala, the bear, and the dog-man, the black-haired cat boy, the rabbit woman, and ?
Where did the grey-haired boy named Yone go?Slowly the different beastmen woke up. They were surprised at first seeing Gendro and Melly, but they weren't as fearful as they once were. There was a small hunch of nervousness especially around Gendro, but that was obvious as he was a rather intimidating man at first glance. With his nearly 192cm and well-trained body, even normal people who don't have any initial fear against men would feel intimidated in front of him.
'Though in truth he has a really soft personality', Melly thought, she has known him for some time now, even before he got promoted to being the knights captain.
He looked like a really stern and pretty scary person from the outside, but his gentle green eyes tend to deceive him. In truth he is just a silent and socially awkward boy who quite literally lives his job, doing nothing but working. 'What a workaholic...well..not that I can talk.' She admitted.Yes, compared to Melly, Gendro is very average. The true workaholic is Melly, there's a reason she still wasn't married at this age, even though she was a very capable and beautiful woman. She simply thought spending her time dating was 'wasteful' because she could have worked instead.
Now, nearly everyone was awake only a few were still sleeping but they were in the process of getting waked up by the others. Gendro watched as Nala hesitated as she slowly approached the bed right next to the far left window. It was the farthest away from the door so Gendro couldn't really see who was on top of it.
Nala pondered on whether she should wake Yone or not. She would like to have him rest a little more since he hasn't slept this long and soundly for a long time, though that's probably accounted to the immense fatigue that accumulated over the past few weeks.
