I dedicate this chapter to Diki, who is usually first on the scene to read, like, and leave comments on my new chapters. You are an author's dream :) Thank you! I really appreciate it.

If you are foolish enough to get entangled in this web, it can only end in your own destruction.

So if you are wise, you will leave me here in the forest tonight. Leave this land and never return, because there is a great cleansing coming for your kind. And if you remain, then only premature death will become you.

The residue of her words stuck to his mind like a dusty film of dried water stains on a window pane. He stood there in a deep gaze, staring at Mayu's body before eventually strapping her on his back again. After he got her adjusted good enough, he carried her towards the drop point.

As he walked, he noticed his feet disappearing more and more into a thick layer of fog now covering the forest floor. The ink of her words imprinted on his heart, which still had an icy-tingling sensation from her touch.

Death? Death you say, huh? Hiroshi thought while pondering her words. "She's not even awake yet and already seems upset!" he mumbled.

"I don't know if you can hear me," directing his voice at Mayu. "But...I think you should have saved that...that...strange message for the next fellow at the drop point because, he's taking you the rest of the way, not me. My job was just to get you out. Strictly speaking, I should be gone before you wake up and therefore, we will never see each other after tonight."

"Furthermore, none of this was my idea anyways. I didn't have a choice," he said looking straight ahead.

Well Death, I guess your tragic game continues with me. I'm going home after I drop her off soon. If you have unfinished business with me, then I guess you can just find me there.

"Or why even wait?" he blurted. "Just finish it right here!"Hiroshi stopped abruptly, throwing both hands in the air, "I-DON'T-CARE!"

His arms dropped before walking again, shaking his head side to side, "Death, I don't know why you torment me all these years, even in my sleep. I don't even know what I did. Surely, there must be more interesting people in the world than me."

As long as you've been following and watching me...You should know, I have nothing to live for anyways-I never have. I don't understand why you just don't kill me like you do others. Is it my karma that makes you hold back, so I can keep on living and suffering?

Now she's warning me of premature death and a great cleansing of my kind. Shaking his head and throwing one hand. Oh why should I worry about it? Apparently, I'm not so easy to kill-Who knows why!

Hiroshi then shrugged his shoulders. I don't even know if that strange encounter was real, but somehow...He stopped and lightly placed his hand over his heart. I feel it was.

Gazing into the fog with a furrowed brow, he murmured, "Who was that assassin I fought with the estate? The timing of it all seems very odd. Did he know I was coming? And that ring he wore-I've seen one like it before..."

He walked slowly again, searching his memories, "I know where..." Hiroshi had remembered one of the boys yelling out waving his hand, "WE- FOUND-HIM! Get over here!"

Hiroshi had taken off like a wild animal down the path. The rest of the pack came thundering down the trail after him. The rambunctious boys growled, laughed, shouted profanities, and even howled while they chased after him. The pack leader quickly overtook the rest of them running as if he was a wolf chasing a rabbit. Hiroshi's heart pounded in his little chest cavity, as he pressed and pressed his legs and lungs for more performance, but there was no more to give.
