I am only 16,but in our world female have no choice to do the things they love,being protected.
Females are meant to warm their husbands bed and to bring children. Women are meant to be a virgin till their wedding night,woman in our world aren't allow to talk and hang out with men freely.
I was sitting in the longue at the library,reading as a knock sounded.Noel's head rested on my lap and she didn't flinch when the door open and our mother stepped in,but her face full of worried.
“Had something bad happen?"I asked
“Your father would like to talk to talk to you in his office"
I carefully moved out from Noel's head and carefully rested her head again on the pillow.She was small for a fourteen year old,but i am not tall either,only five foot one tall.
I don't know why mother had avoided my eye.“Am i doing something wrong?" I asked,i can't think of what i could have done wrong.Usually,Noel and i were the one obedient one,Ruth always is the one who got punished for breaking the rules.
“Hurry, don't let him wait for you too long," Mother said simply.
A knot twisted in my stomach as i reach father's office.But i ignore it and knock onto the door
“Come in"
I entered,trying to control myself not to look scared.Father sat onto his leather armchair,behind him is a shelves full of books that no one never read.Behind them is a secret door leading to the basement in case something bad happen.
“Sit"
I sat down.Father had look at me as if i am his most precious own,”You are sixteen now and we have to start looking for someone who can marry you"
Confusion filled me.
I folded my hands on my lap and try not to gnaw at my lower lip as father always hated that.
“Taeyong and the high ranking positions in the 127,we had a meeting today."
I nodded in confusion.
“Taeyong is busy looking a fiance for his cousin Jaehyun,of couse he won't let him marry one of the soldiers daughter,so you are the one that is available." Ruth was just as beautiful as me,but great thing she is younger.That had saved her.
I gripped so tight that knuckles are turning white but i don't feel pain,numbness had took over me.
“Is that all for now?"
