I was very much aware that the dock didn't belong to me, but my new neighbor - the one who considered me a condescending prick - was fun to mess with.

Her nostrils flared, and one hand held firm on her hip as she stared daggers at me.

"You just can't help yourself, can you?" I asked. "Scratch that. It seems to be all you do..."

"Good one. It's a shared dock. I know it's hard for you to imagine, but not everything revolves around you." The tiny woman narrowed her eyes. "Wait. What did you mean when you said your dock?"

"I live here now."

"What do you mean? You're the realtor," she said.

"Yes, very astute observation. I am a realtor. I know it's hard to believe, but realtor's are just like regular people. We live in houses, too."

Was I being a dick for no good reason? Yes. But honestly, getting a rise out of her was entertaining and Lord knows I needed some amusement after the shitstorm that was my life lately.

And if I was being completely honest, she was easy on the eyes - pretty face and curves in all the right places. Smoking hot was putting it mildly. But none of that mattered, because looking was all I'd be doing. I decided that after Hurricane Natalie, a break from all women in order. Plus, this one had trouble written all over her.

"You're infuriating," she huffed. "So what, you bought your own listing? Why the hell would you want that place? Have you seen it?"

I crossed my arms over my chest, feeling a bit defensive over my very large purchase. "I'm going to fix it up."

"Oh, yeah?" Her brows rose in surprise.

"What's with the face?" I asked, her reaction not sitting well with me.

She raised her shoulder slightly. "Nothing."

But her smug smile told me it was more than that. "You look like you have something on your mind. Why don't you share?"

"I'm just not sure you would appreciate my candor."

Well, now I certainly wanted to hear what she was thinking, which was all sorts of ridiculous since I shouldn't give a shit what a complete stranger thought. Even though I knew I'd regret it, I couldn't help myself.  "Spit it out already."

She shook her head, grinning. "Just remember that you asked for this."

"You're a bit dramatic, aren't you?" I asked, trying not to make eye contact with the lacy pink bra that hugged her full tits, or the striped panties riding low on her hips.

She ignored my comment. "Now it's just a guess, but I bet you don't have any experience actually renovating a house."

Staying quiet, I pretended her assessment wasn't completely spot on. I wasn't sure I liked where this was going.
