"G-george," Karl said with his eyes wide open.

"WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME!?" He said running up to him and sitting next to him on the ground.

"Karl get out of here I'm fine"

"Fuck off!! All of you!!" Karl said while yelling at Clay and his friends.

"Let's go guys, we've had our fun," Clay said, walking away with a grin on his face.

Karl started to tear up. But this made George confused. Did Karl care about him? No thats not right. No one likes him. (😭)

George pushed Karl away from him and tried his best to get up. He rushed as fast as he could to his house. When he got there, he immediately locked the door behind him. When he went to go upstairs, his vision got blurry. All the could remember was everything going black.

When he woke up, he was on the living room couch.

"You're awake oh my god!" said a voice.

"Mom?"

"It's ok I'm here George," said his mother while hugging him gently.

"George why do you have bruises everywhere? The one on your stomach is really bad! Is something happening at school!?"

George was trying to process what happened. His head hurt too much. The first thing that came to his mind was Karl. He had to talk to him. George tried getting up but his mom didn't let him.

"Where do you think you're going!? You can't leave until you tell me what happened."

"Mom I need to talk to Karl! I need to explain!" George said while squirming around.

"Who is Karl!? Did he do this to you!?"

"No mom! Just let me go so I can explain to him!" George said as he was able to stand up.

He ran towards the front door but when he got their he started to lean on it. He was getting dizzy, but he ignored it and ran out the door. He didn't stop no matter what.

Finally he made it to Karls house and started knocking on the door and ringing the door bell.

"Can I help you?" A man said while opening the door.

"I need to speak to Karl, is he home?"

"Umm yeah? Give me a minute," the man said as he closed the door.

George heard footsteps approach the door and Karl opened the door.

"Karl! I need to explain!"

"W-what!? George what are you doing here? Are you ok?!"

"Karl I'm sorry! I got scared. I'm not used to people caring for my injuries. The only person that cares for me is my mom and even she doesn't know about my situation. I mean now she does but that doesn't matter right know!" George stopped catching his breath.

"Why were they beating you up George?" Karl asked in a worried tone.

"I told you the first day we met, they're homophobic. They think its wrong to be gay and everyone in the school knows I like boys so they beat me up for fun. Karl i-" George cut himself off as he started to feel dizzy. Karl immediately noticed and went to help George stand up.

"Come sit on the couch. I'll get you some water," Karl said has the helped George walk into the house.

Karl set George on the couch and walked into the kitchen to get some water. George looked around the room. It was very clean and elegant. Karl's parents must be very successful, he thought to himself.

"Heres your water," Karl said as he walked into the room. He handed George a glass of water and then sat on the couch next to him.

"How long have they been bullying you?"

"It's been a bit over a year now," George said. "It sucks cause I've gotta finish this year and then I have 2 more years of high school."

"I'll be here for you. To be honest, I haven't made a friend since middle school. My old friends kinda drifted away from me and when I moved here, all the kids didn't like the way I acted so no one wanted to be near me."

"Dont worry Karl, I won't leave you. I have the same problem with making friends."

Karl smiled and then hugged him. "Let's change the topic since I don't want to make you anymore uncomfortable. I want to know your type." He said with a smirk while trying to start a conversation.

"Uhhh, I guess a guy with a sense of humor and that would really care for me. Also a guy I can definitely trust. What about you?"

"I like boys that act tough but they have an adorable and caring soft side for me. But I'll never find a guy like that," Karl said with an annoyed face.

"Oh cmon. Guys like that are everywhere. You need to open your eyes."

"Yeah I guess."

Georges POV

Karl and I continued talking for about 2 hours. Then I decided to go home. While I walked back to the house, I remembered about mom. I felt bad for storming out the house without saying much. I must've worried her.

When I got to the house, I stood on the porch. I was a bit scared to go inside but I took a deep breath and walked inside. My mom was on the couch with a worried face.

"Mom?"

"George! Dont ever run off like that! You scared me!" she said while running to give me a hug.

"I'm sorry mom, it's just that I had to talk to a friend," I said hugging her.

"You made a friend!" She said with a gasp.

"George I'm so happy for you! Here I made you quesadillas and some salad while you were gone," she said leading me to the kitchen.

Its been a few weeks and I've still been bullied but Karl helps me with my bruises so they dont hurt that much.

I told my mom that I was being beaten up at school but the people that hurt me stopped. There's no way I'm telling her I still get beaten up.

I made friends with a boy in my science class, his name is Nick. Me, him, and Karl have been hanging out together and getting to know each other.

I told Karl I'm not comfortable telling Nick I get beaten up so we tell him my injuries are from my dad. I don't even have a dad.

I feel like my broken heart is getting fixed by the people that care for me. So what if Clay still bullies me, I have friends and family here for me, that's all that matters.

At least that's what I thought..
