Chapter Two A Father like you, who needs Enemies

(Keith's Prologue)

His cold stare, those evil brown eyes. That twisted, yet cocky, smile. How he remembered hating such dark features. How he'd been gifted at birth, that such genetics spared him, or else he'd been the spinning image of the person he hated more than anything else in the entire supernatural world.

His father.

His eighty-year-old, immortal father never looked his age. His light blonde locks, and piercing chocolate eyes, twisted in such dark evil, his body couldn't help but shiver, and shake under the influence of such cold. ''You are not him. You are not my father..'' he breathed. The man rolled his brown, bloodshot eyes, as he held a hand against his forehead, amusement spreading along his face. ''Come now, Kareo, that's what you say to me, every time our paths cross..'' he answered, using the name he was given at birth, the long exploding pressure of anger, and hatred flowing through his insides, as that name unlocked such death covered memories. Ones that were always meant to be locked. ''You don't get to call me that!'' he ordered. ''My mother wanted my name to be Keith! Don't act like you've forgotten her!'' His voice escaped his hot lips, as his hot, deadly breath warmed his aching, swore bones and muscles, as his sharp brown eyes trailed the room, meeting the eyes of the ghostly girl. She stood, staring at him with such disinterest, as he wandered why she was even still there, beside him. Since coming into the room, she still hadn't moved away from him. What reason did she have for standing so close?

''You're right, Keith....'' he sounded as if he was about to puke, when his name, escaped his mouth, but he held it back, and recovered, straightening his body in the chair he sat in, clearing his throat, as he continued. ''Your mother wanted a normal life for you, and your sister....however, I knew you deserved better than that! You two were born with demon and immortal blood, flowing through your very veins! Hell if I was going to stand around and watch her baby you, and your sister! Absurd!'' he barked. Keith's eyes went wide the moment his father's words, disrespected the image he had of his mother, which made his hands, even though they were tied together in front of him, clench tightly, causing dark veins to pop and appear, climbing the top of his arms. He knew the ghostly girl could see them, for the change he sensed in her aura. Once her body was calm and still was now pulsing. Her heart beat could be heard from inside his mind.

Even with the lies surrounding his mother's true death, he knew the truth behind everything. The cover-up, the assassin hired by his father, to stage it like a demon had attacked her, while she was alone in the house. He'd been gone for the night, after promising his sister, Dove, a fantastic adventure birthday! He loved his sister with all his heart, even if inside them, there was a demon's spirit, and immortal blood pumping into their hearts. The features of a mortal still possessed the two of them. As for his father, the features of a demon were so strongly visible, no one would ever be fooled into thinking he was anything different from a monster.

He was the one. He killed Mom, plunged a knife straight into her heart, and got one of his controlled demon servants to tear apart the evidence. She was gone, turned into black stand, leftover ashes of her visible body, by the time the two returned home. Keith remembered how much his sister cried that night. How much pain her soul was in, and the weakness, to do nothing to help her, stabbed at his heart, even now. His eyes were filled with fiery, he had to be contained quickly, before he pitifully attacked his father. He had to control himself, for Serpent, and for Dove's sake. Pain stabbed at him again, as he was caught by the arm, as the steel tip of a blade cut deep into one side of his body. Then the strength of fifty men came down on him. Back down on his knees was where he was now. He yelled and felt the knife cut deeper.

Blood flowed from the wound in seconds. Even though the blood came out so fast, he still tried to rise to his feet again. Although struggling, as a mustered gasp escaped his lips, he was grabbed from behind, as he felt the tip of the blood scented blade at his neck. ''oh, did you want a knife too?'' the ghostly girl teased, a mocked expression replacing her previous expression.
