Chapter Three Letting Go
*Before*
(Lena's Prologue)
His hand slipped down to hers and captured it. His hand captured her chin and turned her face toward him. He groaned and captured her lips again. His hands captured her waist and pulled her close again, kissing her ardently. For a few moments he teased her with light, quick kisses, until she captured his neck with her arms and forced him to hold still. His hand slipped down to hers and captured it. He groaned and captured her lips again. His hands captured her waist and pulled her close again, kissing her ardently. For a few moments he teased her with light, quick kisses, until she captured his neck with her arms and forced him to hold still. Her blonde/bronze curls were captured in a ponytail, her face flushed from his bite and her treasured eyes glittering with anger that made him want to sweep her up and kiss her until the dazed look returned.
''Lena,'' he said. ''You know that I love you.....'' His voice stammered as it dove over the top of her head, before she paid attention to the rest, her smile had already faded, now left with a frown and broken glass behind her light, soft. treasured eyes. ''but....''
''But what?'' she asked, those innocent, treasured eyes, staring into his dark colored ones, as he felt his blood flow starting to freeze. His voice became silent, almost non existent. He suddenly smiled at the recollection of his emotions towards her, his love for her, as passionately and unexpectedly, when his voice returned, she swore her knees had given out, where she waited to feel the ground underneath her, once she landed, but the crash never happened. ''I love you.'' he whispered against her ear, nuzzling it. He wanted her, and nothing had ever made her happier in her life than when she saw the depth of his emotion in his eyes and lived through the consuming intensity with which he made love to her.
"I love the way you smell," she murmured. "I love it," she said honestly, smiling. "I take pleasure in knowing you can't sense me anymore, love," he replied with a half-smile. "Because every time I start to love you, you betray me," he said at last. The tension grew in the air above them, as she forced herself back and away from him. Her eyes were sharp now, and expression softened with sadness. ''What?'' she hissed. ''I've never betrayed you! Never! I loved you!'' she barked angrily. "I love you so much," she whispered, and then sighed.
His heartbeat was strong and steady, the thick arm wrapped around her as it had been when he held her after they'd made love for the last time before falling asleep."You see why demons love to cause mortals pain?" he whispered. ''What are you talking about? Keith, I don't understand!'' she shouted, sadness and heartbreak behind her voice. ''You'll never be able to handle the truth, thus I can't trust you.....'' he mumbled.
It was a tragic love story, one she knew the end to and dreaded seeing how it came to be that way.
There was no sign of the gentleman who made love to her last night, nothing but the cold, stony features of death, as she glared into those once, now cold eyes.
"Love," he said, as if the one word were a full explanation. ''I think it's time to go....'' he whispered. ''Don't! Don't do this, please!'' she barked, grabbing his arms, and pulling him towards her, their faces almost touching, expect for the fact he would not look into her eyes. "I love you," she finally managed."Love," he said, as if the one word were a full explanation. ''I think it's time to go....'' he whispered. ''Don't! Don't do this, please!'' she barked, grabbing his arms, and pulling him towards her, their faces almost touching, expect for the fact he would not look into her eyes. "I love you," she finally managed. "I love you too," he responded tersely, and then began to cry. ''Do you want to hear the truth? If I didn't love you, no one would..'' His words struck her like a knife or blade, stabbing right into her chest, eager to taste the blood from her heart. Grabbing with one hard, tight, grip upon her left wrist, she held herself. The blood flow she could feel, was stunned, and stopped from her tight, hard, grip, from the unleashed strength, she held behind weak, and sometimes considered ''harmless'' body. ''If I didn't love you, you'd be probably dead right now....'' He said again. Chilling her inside, and her bones to the brick of pain as she thought any moment she'd crash to the floor, dead. She felt him easing into her, forward, until she arched beneath him, her body on the verge of shattering, as her heart had minuets before her mind could put together the pieces, behind the words, responsible for her shattered being.
''No! No! Don't do this! You don't get to do this!'' she shouted, silver tears sliding down her white cheeks, pushing against his hard chest. ''No....'' her voice grew softer, a shattered escape of defeated breaths, as he watched her leave. Her heart attempted a painful escape through her throat, as images of the pearly white kingdom burned a hole into her mind. Where the image would never truly leave her. The haunting of her past, weighting her down, for years to come.....
Until there fates would intertwine for a second time, unprepared for the changes, that await them. Together.
