It was hot. So hot.

Then the alarm began ringing.

BEEP BEEP

He could feel his watch wrapping itself tighter and tighter around his wrist, ticking all the while.

tick tock tick tock

BEEP BEEP

Sweat everywhere

His wrist being strangled.

Adrien sat up in his bed panting. He threw his blankets off of him. His head was ringing, and he could still hear the faint BEEP BEEP of the alarm clock.

He raced to his bathroom, splashing his face with water. Staring at himself in the long, clean mirrors. How could that really be him? He looked close enough at all his features, his eyebrow, eyes, nose, mouth. Soon enough they all looked like a mish-mashed puzzle, none of the pieces went together.

He splashed his face again with water and walked back out. It was still so hot, so he just lied in his bed, no blankets or sheets. He looked down at his watch.

02:56

It was early. He rolled onto his side and closed his eyes.

...

His arm was uncomfortable, so he rolled onto his back.

He gave his nose a scratch a little later. Then he sneezed.

He kicked his bed and shook restlessly. He sat back up and checked his watch.

04:01

He stood up, sick of his pointless attempts at going back to sleep. He pulled on his shoes and put on a jumper over his shirt.

"Plagg", he whispered, trying to find him in the dark.

A couple of seconds later and there was a reply, "what do you want?", a whiny voice replied from his drawer.

"Plagg, I'm sorry... but claws out".

"WHAT! NOO-"

Adrien transformed into Chat Noir. The black figure jumped out of the tall rectangular window, out into the darkness beyond.

Chat Noir stood by the lamp post, looking up at the blue-roofed house. It was a cold morning, his breath came out hot, and fogged up in steam. He wanted a run, and Chat Noir was too good at running for it to be painful.

"Plagg claws out", Chat Noir transformed back into Adrien.

"Adrien, what on earth! You've got to let a cat get its beauty sleep", Plagg said yawning. The tiny floating kwami then looked around. "And where are we! Why are we here".

"Sorry Plagg, I couldn't sleep, so I'm gonna have a run".

Adrien started running. He ran back from where he came, down the street, except instead of turning right to go back to his house, he turned left. Heading toward the main road.

"One of the reasons I was so glad not to be human is this", Plagg gestured to Adrien running. "Why would you be so cruel to your body?"

Adrien looked at Plagg, "It's... actually... good", he puffed out the words.

Plagg continued complaining, Adrien spared his breath the majority of the time, not bothering to answer Plaggs questions.

The sun started rising. Adrien looked down at his watch.
