Blaine remained silent as the elevator rose, bringing them to their destination. The doors opened up directly to one large suite. The main area was filled with guests, while a bedroom closed off to the far left on it's own. The smaller room was closed off by double doors with a solid lock. Blaine had checked ahead of time. A bathroom was to the far right, a small kitchen beside that, a large balcony overlooking a gorgeous view of the city, and in the center was the myriad guests already gathered for the party. When the doors opened and everyone saw Ace, the room filled with cheers. Blaine braced herself and walked in behind her charge. Her eyes would remain sharp, ears open, and hands ready for anything.
Ace raised his hands excitedly. "Guys! Thanks so much for hanging! Now let's frickin' party!" The other heavily vetted guests cheered raucously and it was on. Bouncing as enthusiastically as on stage, the wolf started in. Close, snuggly selfies, dancing and rubbing elbows gave the bodyguard enough to worry about before the kid even started in on drinking. Even better, the drinks were about 80% sugar and pushed the professional to collar the kid.
It was less than two hours before Ace was clambering onto a moderately elevated stage. The wolf absconded with the DJ's microphone and readily caught the crowds attention. "Hey guys-I just wanna say I'm so grateful for all of you. I couldn't have gotten anywhere without you guys." The pup put a fist to his chest. "That's why I'm giving you all a preview of my next album-" The kid gave the crowd a wicked wink. "Just don't tell my manager." Ace put a finger to his lips in a gesture worthy of an album cover. The kid was goofy, but he had the craft down pat.
At the kid's first drink, Blaine looked disapprovingly. "You should not be drinking, kid," they said as his drink was downed. The guard eyed the drink and its sheer amount of sugar it was putting into his system. Great.
As the night went on, the guard stuck close to their charge, eyeing the party goers suspiciously as they got too close. When the kid jumped up onstage, Blaine's eye twitched. Seriously?
"Hey baby, wanna drink?" The guard glanced back to see a drunk elephant man offering a drink with a sleezy grin. "No. Thank you." They walked away from the elephant and crossed their arms as they watched the kid with narrowed eyes. This damn brat.
Even without preparation or the background music, Ace carried the party on voice alone. The agency had chosen their talent well. Always moving, always looking, always smiling, the performer bounced his way from one side of the stage to the other. He flashed a cute stagehand an even cuter smile and she gawked in an instant crush. Another started onto the stage when the wolf kid tossed her a wink. Seeking to be the up and coming stars night fling-real or not, the woman darted in lithely and went for a smooch as he wrapped up the mesmerizing single.
Blaine moved quickly "Nope" she said sharply as the girl's lips met palm. She pushed the girl back with her hand to face and moved Ace back with her left two arms. "Back up, kid. You're being too flirty," she admonished.
One of his angry fans huffed, "Who are you, his girlfriend?" Without hesitation Blaine replied, "I'm his guard, idiot." She looked to the girl, quirking a brow in challenge "Back off, Tinkerbell."
The siren kid gawked in surprise, but recovered quickly. He smiled apologetically around Blaine. "Sorryyyy-but I'm saving myself for love. Blaine, can you get your hands out of her face, please?" he stage whispered the last part.
The girl frowned and pouted. "You just want to keep him to yourself." "Actually, she's getting paid-" Ace interjected, but the girl was already flouncing off, muttering about how stars didn't really believe in their lyrics.
