Night Seventy-Seven

“so how was work today?” I ask Adam as I push the pair of earrings I chose through my holes.

“when is my work ever exciting Julie?”

I step out of the bathroom in only my bra and underwear since my dress was laying on the bed. “oh, I don’t know, that day your boss totally had PMS sounded pretty entertaining.” Adam only had on his black pants while choosing between a blue, white, or red shirt. I walk over to him and grab the white off the rack and hand it to him, “it contrasts best with your skin.” I say and start to walk back to the bed.

Adam catches me around the waist and pulls me back to him, “are you saying red and blue don’t look good on me?”

“hmm…I’ve actually never seen you in either, so I wouldn’t know” I smile up at him. The events from this morning were still in my head but didn’t trouble me like they did before. At least not to that extent.

Before I had time to say anything, Adams lips were on mine. I melt into it like I did most times he kissed me, and wrap my legs around his waist.

He backed up until he reached the bed and then fell backwards, with me now straddling him. I broke the kiss for a breath, “dinner is soon.”

“has someone never had a quickie?” he questions, raising his eyebrows.

“nice mood-killer Adam.” I say.

His lips trail up and down the side of my neck, making me shiver, “you sure about that?”

“n-n-no.” I stutter out.

I could feel his smirk against my skin and wanted to wipe it out. Sadly, he knew my weak spots. I heard the front door close and just assumed it was Katelyn coming back from her run. Didn’t really matter though, since my door was locked. Two pairs of footsteps sounded coming up the stairs, with another close behind. Adam and I didn’t separate from our lip lock though, not thinking anything of it really.

Well, that was until two things happened at the same time. The door opened just as Finn screamed, “Wait! Not that room!!” I pull back from Adam and push my hair out of my eyes just to come face to face with two people I presume to be Finns parents. Adam turns his head that way and smiles.

“Hi Mr. and Mrs. Snyder. How are you two this evening?” Adam asks all politely, sounding only a little out of breath. They stood there still, frozen, just like I was. Finn appeared then, in my eyesight, and I guess he couldn’t help but smirk.

“mother, father, this is Dakotas best friend, her Maid of Honor, and Adams girlfriend, Juliana Skye Richards.

“Hello Mr. and Mrs. Snyder.” I say, letting go of Adams hand and giving them a short wave. His mom stared at me in disbelief before all three of them left the room, closing the door behind them.

I climb off of Adam and grab my dress from the end of the bed, “so, those were Finns parents.”

“yup.”

“I just had to meet them like that, huh?”

“at least you didn’t like, hit their car or something, that would have been a worse way of meeting.”

“really? Cause I don’t think it can get way worse than me straddling my boyfriend.” I pull up the dress and zip it on the side. It was a strapless black dress with white polkadots all over it. The hem of it had a tiny pink ribbon that went all the way around. And it had another one just under my chest. The length was okay, just above my knees, felt sort of short but I was also getting used to things being shorter.

I quickly pin up my hair and toss on mascara before turning back to Adam, “how do I look?” I ask. He was in the midst of trying to tie his tie. I laugh and walk over to him. “here.” I say, looping it around and through all the holes and then pulling it snug. “okay, now, how do I look?”
