AS PETER STOOD there, breathless, cheek stinging from your lips even through the mask as you climbed down the fire escape, he had only one thought: He was already in love.

Sure, the conversations that occurred were short, but they already meant more to him than most things. He loved the way the wind kissed your hair, the moonlight that shone brightly in your eyes, the sound of your voice. Everything and anything about you caused his skin to tingle.

Your presence lingered in the oncoming breeze, and Peter's heart squeezed at your absence. He would've given anything to stay by your side, even if silence was the only thing between you, but he knew you needed to get home. And so did he.

He barely registered his feet running off the building, and his arm instinctively shot a web out from his wrists. Sharp air stung at his body once he began to swing, and his heart was currently running laps around Queens. He was on cloud 9.

The path he had swung a thousand times before suddenly seemed dull without your closeness, and Peter quickly wondered if he would always feel this way when you weren't near.

Just another reason to see you again.

His ecstasy never left as he crawled through his bedroom window. It was still there when he messily called Ned, and still clinging by the time his friend had walked through the door.

When Ned got the CODE RED text from his best friend, he practically dropped the newest lego set he had started hours previous with the shock that radiated through his body. His hat was messily tossed onto his flat dark hair, his shirt wrinkled from the journey, his curiosity pouring out of his eyes like tears on a dark lonely night.

May no longer questioned the spontaneous visits that happened so often, so much so that keeping a calendar would be useless. She was used to the chaos and found comfort in the fact that Peter had someone there for him. Her nose was stuck in a book as she sat on the couch, hearing a rushed greeting from Ned before he disappeared behind Peter's door.

"Dude!" Ned hissed, "You sent a code red! What happened?"

Peter gripped Ned by the collar and shuffled him to sit on the bed, Peter's Spiderman suit carefully tucked away, replaced by a science pun shirt and flannel pants. Peter's cheeks were still red from the very small intimate kiss that you had placed on his cheek, and he left Ned clueless on his bed as he tried to form coherent sentences.

"Ok so you know I finished Patrol right? And I was just hanging out on the top of this random building and all the Sudden Y/n was there and- wait you don't know her name, my soulmate's name is Y/n by the way, and- and she walked up to me- like behind my back! And I didn't realize she was there and she just... she just sat down beside me and we just sat there in silence and oh my god Ned I'm actually in love. She was perfect. She is perfect. Then she apologized, and honestly, I don't think I could ever be mad at her. A-And she kissed me! It was only on the cheek though.. But it still counts!"

Peter's toned hands flailed as he made his points, pacing about his room with wide eyes and energetic words, excitement seeping from the wounds he collected from previous patrols. Peter knew his downstairs neighbors could probably hear his heavy footing, and he would most likely receive a noise complaint. He couldn't bring himself to care.

Ned, on the other hand, was buffering.

"Wait, hold on- just hold on! Your soulmate's name is Y/n?-"

"It's such a pretty name, Ned," Peter intervened.

"And you guys hung out and she didn't bite your head off-"

"Her voice was so sweet too-"

"And she apologized?"

"'N she was wearing his huge hoodie and he looked so cute in it," Peter rambled, cutting off his best friend once again.

"And then she kissed you?"

"And then she kissed me!"

Peter and Ned jumped up and down like fools, like students being accepted into their dream school where they could pursue their dreams, the familiar scent of bliss floating through the air of the Parker residence.

The two had been friends for as long as they could remember, they were here for good, through thick and thin, so the satisfaction of Peter's progress made Ned's heart swell with pride and amazement. Peter flopped on his bed in a haze, eyes clouded in glee.

"The best thing is I'm seeing her again tomorrow, she actually asked to see me again dude!" Peter lost himself in the memory of you while Ned congratulated him and asked to be filled in the following evening. His chest rose and fell, his lungs filling with air that made his heartbeat louder in his chest, so much so that he believed it might pop from his ribcage.

"Maybe tomorrow you'll get to know her better," Ned pointed out, seeing as the conversations they had previously had were nowhere near as informative as Peter would've liked.

"Yeah," Peter breathed out, "Tomorrow."
