A First Crush

I stopped laughing and looked up at what I could see of Asahi's face. He was a warm pink and had his eyes closed. I turned in his arms to look at him better. He looked content and happy. I felt another pair of hands go around my waist and Asahi's eyes popped open. I was pulled out of his arms and someone picked me up. I screamed and started to flail. I didn't know who had picked me up but they were gonna die because of it. "Hey now Kariro, don't hurt me too bad." I was dropped and my weight carried me down to the ground. "Ow. Whoever picked me up is gonna die, so you might wanna run now." I looked up at two people standing over me. It was Asahi and Daichi. They helped me up and I looked at Daichi. "Why'd you do that?" I stepped closer to him and glared. "Sorry, no pda in the gym." He smiled at Asahi and looked at me. "That's not what I meant, Daichi. Why'd you pick me up? You could've just pulled me away; you didn't have to be all extra about it." He chuckled a little and turned to face me head on. "I'm sorry. I didn't know that you were uncomfortable being picked up. It won't happen again, by me at least." He patted my shoulder and walked away.

I looked at Asahi and sighed, "Sorry you had to hear and see that." He wasn't looking at me, I couldn't tell what he was thinking. "Ok everyone, let's clean up and go home." Daichi was standing in the middle of the gym talking to everyone. I guess that means practice is over now. I walked over to where some volleyballs were and picked them to put them in the basket. I saw some stray volleyballs at one side of the gym. I jogged over to them and picked them up. I took them over to the basket and dumped them in. I looked to see if there were any more but I couldn't see any. I wheeled the basket to the storage room and got a broom. I started to sweep and wasn't paying attention to where I was. I was finished in no time and I put the broom up. I grabbed my bag and went out to change my shoes. I saw Hinata and Yamaguchi talking with the tall blonde and Kageyama standing next to them. I saw Suga, Daichi, and Asahi talking in a little circle. I saw Kiyoko by the shoe cubbies. I walked up to her and bowed, "Thank you for showing me around and everything today. I really appreciate it."

She looked at me and smiled, "It's no problem really, just trying to help you out and do my job." She grabbed her bag and bowed to me. I could tell she wanted to leave as soon as she could. I waved her goodbye and got my shoes changed. Today was a good day, even if it had it's bumps. I was ready to go home and sleep. I stood up from changing my shoes and walked over to Asahi. "Ready to go?" I asked him and looped my arm into his. He got red and looked down from where he was looking while talking to Suga and Daichi. "Y-yeah, if you are." I nodded and looked at Suga. "You two are walking home together too? Wow." I laughed at his statement. "It's not like that. First, I kissed Asahi because Tanaka and Noya were being annoying and basically dared me to. Second, he lives across the street from me. Third, we've only known each other for two days. Yes, I know that we kissed but shit happens you know. So, at that, Asahi and I will be taking our leave." I looked at Asahi and nodded my head towards the school gate.

We said goodbye to everyone that was still there and headed home. I let go of his arm as we walked to the gate. Once we left the school grounds, I grabbed his hand and held it. I could tell that he was always nervous around me or he didn't know what to do. "Hey, Asahi-senpai, is everything ok? You can talk to me if you need to." He stopped walking and pulled me to face him. "You don't have to call me senpai, ok? It makes me feel weird. I did want to talk about the thing that happened though. I know that Noya and Tanaka can be pushy and annoying sometimes but I've never seen anyone do anything about it. It just caught me by surprise, that's all. I'm sorry if I may have made you uncomfortable. And Noya was correct, that was my first kiss, so it caught me off guard. We can just forget it ever happened if that's what you want." He wouldn't look at me still and he kept rubbing his neck. "Tanaka and Noya were just getting on my nerves, that's all. I know people like them that take things to extremes, so I decided to stop it before it got any worse. Don't worry, I wasn't uncomfortable at all, if it was anyone else I might've been, but not with you. Oh ok, well if you can keep a secret, that was my first kiss too. So don't think too much on it. And lastly, we don't have to forget it, if anything, I'd love to remember it for the rest of my life, but that's just me. You have a free will of what you do with things." I smiled at him and squeezed his hand a little.

"Wait. That was your first kiss? I can't believe that. There's no way." He was in surprise and I nodded at him. "There's a way. I've never kissed anyone. To be honest, I've never had a crush on anyone. Well, until recently." I smiled and started to walk away towards home. I was pulling him home, well to where we both lived. I had a tight grip on his hand even though mine were still hurt. "What do you mean, until recently? You have a crush on someone?" I stopped and looked at him, "Yes, I do have a crush on someone but you don't get to know." I stuck my tongue out at him and continued to walk home. I was looking at the street signs and trying to remember the rest of the way home. I felt my arm being tugged, "This way. It should be faster." I followed Asahi in the direction home. He was quiet like he usually was but I had an off feeling, something wasn't right.
