There's Something Coming

I was laughing at him and hadn't noticed he was right next to me. He was coasting next to me. "What, don't wanna race me?" I asked as I sped up just a little. I looked at him and he was red. I didn't know why. "I just don't want you to exhaust yourself." I started to walk backwards and talk to Asahi. "I'll be fine, I'm used to jogging and running. It was my hobby back in the States." I turned around and started jogging again. Again, he caught up with me and just coasted next to me. "If you wanna go ahead, you can. You have to get warmed up and everything. So if you need to go you can, I don't mind." I smiled and slowed my jogging. Asahi shook his head at me and came to a stop on his bike. "No, we're showing up together so that in case you get in trouble I can explain." He got off his bike and walked next to me. We were almost to the gym. I could see Tanaka talking to Daichi and the tall blonde with Yamaguchi. I heard Asahi yelp and I looked to see what was wrong. Noya had jumped on Asahi's back and scared him. "Hey Asahi. Coming to school with your s/o? Wow, that's nice. I guess you won't have any time us guys now, huh. That's a shame." Noya had his arm around Asahi's neck but he wasn't in a chokehold. "Noya, they're not my s/o. They have a crush on someone." Noya looked at me. "Wait, what? So what about yesterday?" I let go of Asahi and came over to me. "That was because you and Tanaka-senpai were being assholes and I had to prove you wrong. Anyway, Asahi will find or figure out who my crush is soon enough, hopefully." I smiled at Noya and nodded. "Yeah, they're giving me clues everyday to help me figure out who their crush is. Maybe you and Tanaka could help me." Asahi looked at me looking for confirmation.

I nodded at him and walked away. I had to come up with a new clue. "So, what's the first clue my man?" Noya asked Asahi trying to stay quiet. I walked up to Tanaka, "Hey Tanaka-senpai, Noya and Asahi need your help with something. Think you can do it?" I motioned my thumb over my shoulder to where Asahi and Noya were. Tanaka nodded and walked over to them. "Well, the first clue is that they're on the team. That's all I got." Noya nodded and filled Tanaka in on what was happening. Tanaka turned to Asahi, "So they're on the team. That could be anyone. They didn't give you another one to narrow it down?" Asahi shook his head, "Nope. They said they would give me a clue per day and at random times throughout the day. So I have no idea when or where I'll get the next clue, but once I get it, I'll text it to you." Noya and Tanaka nodded as the three of them walked up to the shoe cubbies. I didn't see Kiyoko anywhere. I went to Daichi and tapped him on the shoulder, he looked surprised to see me. "Hey Kariro, why're you here? Kiyoko usually doesn't come till halfway through practice." Well, that answered my question. "I didn't know if I was needed or not, so I just came. I hope that's ok." Daichi nodded and smiled. "Of course. You can help out with some of the drills we're doing this morning." I nodded and thanked him. I bowed and went into the gym. I saw Kageyama and Hinata setting up already.

I put my stuff down and went over to help. I waved and went into the storage room to get the net to put on the pole that Kageyama and Hinata had. There was another pole that needed to be put up but I couldn't lift it by myself. While carrying the net, I saw Tanaka and Daichi walk in. Tanaka looked at me then the storage room. "The other pole is in there. I couldn't carry it by myself, so if you guys could get it that would be great." Daichi and Tanaka nodded then went to the storage room. I started to unwrap the net so it could be set up. I was having trouble with a part of the net and I felt the net being slightly pulled. I looked to see what was happening and saw that Yamaguchi was trying to undo the other end of the net. I waved at him and he waved back with a smile.

We got the net untangled and put it on the poles. The net was ready for practice. I went to find Daichi to see what else I could do. He said I could help with drills, but I don't know what that means. I don't know any drills. I found Asahi first before Daichi. I tapped him on the shoulder, "Do you know what drills you guys are doing? Or do I have to ask Daichi?" He thought for a minute or two. He shook his head, "I didn't get anything about drills. You might have to ask Daichi." I nodded and went to find Daichi. I looked around to see if I could find Daichi in the gym. I couldn't see him anywhere in the gym, which was weird because he was always in the gym. I saw Tanaka and went over to him. "Hey, Tanaka-senpai? Have you seen Daichi? I need to see what he needs me to do. He said I could help out with drills, but Asahi said he didn't hear anything about drills for today." I looked over to where Asahi was. Tanaka thought shook his head. I thought someone could help me. "Nope. I haven't seen Daichi in here or outside. I know he's here though. I'll let you know if I see him. Oh, and I haven't heard anything about drills either." He shrugged at me and patted me on the shoulder. I smiled at him and nodded. He walked away and I started to look around for Daichi again.

I couldn't find him anywhere. Oh well, nothing I could do to change that really. It was getting close to starting time. Everyone was looking kind of confused as what to do. I clapped to get everyone's attention. "So Daichi's not here and none of us know what to do. I know I'm new and all that but we might as well do something for practice while Daichi is absent." Everyone gathered in semi-circle around me. "I may be a second year but I can help out. Asahi and Suga? Would you like to lead in practice?" I looked at them and Asahi backed away while Suga shook his head. "Ok. Then I guess I'll lead. So, let's start out with some stretches. Let's do our arms first then we can do our legs. Let's get in a circle and start." Everyone got into a circle and started to follow my lead in some arm stretches. Daichi still wasn't around and it was starting to concern me. He was the captain of course. He was supposed to be here on time if not early. We finished with arm stretches and started with legs. I looked around the circle and found that Asahi was staring at me once again. I smiled at him and he looked away with pink spreading across his face. I continued to look around the circle and saw Tanaka winking at me. I started to laugh a little and everyone looked at me. "Oh, sorry. Everyone done?" They nodded at me and I smiled. "Ok. Now let's got some actual practice in."
