A Step Forward

Shutting yourself could have been an answer,
But it was never the solution that's needed,
For you have to know that it won't dissolve,
The way yourself is being treated

The fear of change is always present,
It's only okay when some raise the forts,
However humans are born adaptable,
For they still have other resorts

Letting it go was always the easiest,
For some didn't seem worthy to fight for,
But have you ever stopped to think,
What exactly have you managed to ignore?

Standing on the edge looking at the sky,
On the brink of falling and breaking apart,
Have you heard about what they call "hope"?
Or was it always shattered, your own heart?

Have you heard about the people who once lived?
Who once had dreams, up high in mountain's peaks?
Who climbed it all the way for them to reach?
Or probably, did you also think they were freaks?

It was never easy to take the first step,
To ignore the screams of contempt and blame,
But soon after you overcome that very obstacle,
You get to see what you just became.

I have never rode in a train before,
Yet someone told me to hurry up for a one,
It was when I grew older when I understood,
It never had anything to do with a train
