You yawn and pull yourself out of bed as the dull roar of your alarm continues on.
Could I pick a more annoying alarm sound? At least it gets me up and awake in the morning.
You fumble around with the alarm for a few seconds before it finally shuts off. You turn and observe your partner sleeping peacefully.
God, I wish I could sleep like that. Ever since I bought that stupid ring, I haven't gotten a good night's sleep. Maybe it's a sign that I should get this over with.
You squeeze your partner's hand before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
Today is the day that I will finally propose to them.
After you finish changing, you walk out of the bedroom and observe your partner. They're still sleeping, and they haven't moved at all.
It's almost 11:00 a.m... How are they still sleeping? Whatever. That's good for me, since I'll have time to prepare.
You hum while you grab the free notepad that the hotel provided you. You decided to use it to write down proposal ideas, but you ended up scraping all of those ideas.
The best way to propose is from my heart, and my heart is telling me to do it now.
You write a quick message saying that you're going to grab breakfast before tearing the paper off and sitting on the nightstand next to them. You hide the notepad again before heading out of the room. You spare one last look at your partner as you walk out of the room.
You can do this, Y/N. Just breathe and do it. You'll be fine.
"How did you sleep?" Handong's voice startles you as you turn to face her.
Can we please stop with the jump scares? I'm done with it.
"Oh, just fine." You mumble as you carefully shut the door so you don't make any noise.
"I'm sorry for scaring you. I know it's early." Handong smiles as she grabs your hand. "Where did you get this ring?"
"Oh, it's just a family heirloom. Nothing special, really." You pull your hand away from her, and the smile fades from her face.
Something's off about her. I thought I sensed it before, but it's obvious now.
"Do you need help with anything? I know the layout of the hotel can be confusing." Handong quietly mumbles while not daring to look you in the eyes.
Now I feel awful. Maybe I'm being a bit of a pessimist. At the worst, she's just a nosy traveler. What is up with you, Y/N? First, you try to flirt with other girls, and now you're being paranoid about people helping you. Get your act together!
"Yeah, I'm curious about where the breakfast buffet is. I don't want to get lost again." You say with shame.
A light smile crosses Handong's face. "I can show you the way."
She grabs your hand as she pulls you down the hallway.
Oh, we're doing this now?
You blush as you try to catch up with Handong's quick pace.
Jeez, can't you wait for me for just a second?
"How was your date last night?" She asks as you manage to start walking at her pace.
"It was good. We went out to this fancy place, and had some good food along with a few drinks." You explain quietly, trying not to wake up any other residents of the hotel.
