I thought it would be fun to create a chapter where I go over all of my foreshadowing and references to other media forms that inspired this book. I decided to title it 'things you may have missed' because readers sometimes don't see these things. Anyways, play along and tell me how many that you noticed at the end. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy this chapter.

General Things
Chapter titles were all lyrics from BEcause except for the prologue, of course. It probably was obvious if you've looked at the lyrics before, and if not, it was when you saw the first full English lyric. I used the lyrics off of the Genius website, if anyone was curious.

i've been disguising myself

Look Over - The U.S. Hotel - This is the name of the hotel, if you don't remember. This references two different things. First, the 'look over' part is switched from 'Overlook'. If you aren't aware, this was the hotel's name in The Shining. Since that movie and book inspired the horror elements in this book, I thought that I would pay my respects by naming the hotel in its honor. Second, the U.S. Part is suppose to reference the movie Us. If you didn't know, this was the movie that inspired "BEcause", and I wanted to include it because that movie technically indirectly inspired this work!

"Y/N L/N, right?" JiU looks up at you for affirmation. - I know that JiU said that she knew your name because you were one of the only guests there or something like that. I wanted to let you know that she was lying throughout that entire encounter. JiU obviously knew who you were before then, if you couldn't tell by later events in the book.

"Anytime, Y/N, anytime." Handong mumbles after the door shuts in her face. - This is another case like JiU's. If you re-read the chapter, you'll realize that Y/N never told Handong their name. Obviously, this means that Handong was anticipating Y/N's arrival.

smile when you see me, smile at me

"Good afternoon. I heard that you were our new guest. How are you enjoying your stay, Y/N?" The girl greets you with a friendly tone. - Once again, Y/N has never interacting with Gahyeon, so Gahyeon would need to know of Y/N beforehand to know their name.

it's just the two of us in this dark room - interlude i

"Well, it's a good thing that we have a cleaning crew, right? Send for Sua immediately." (Gahyeon) - This should be ringing alarm bells for you that these girls are definitely not who they say they are.

"I do too. It won't be long until they spend all of their days with us." (Handong) - I believe that this whole chapter is where the girls reveal that they are interested in Y/N romantically, but this line makes it the most obvious.

if you play with me today...

She looks eerily similar to Handong. Maybe they're sisters or something? That wouldn't surprise me, since Gahyeon mentioned something about family. - This line very sneakily eludes to the concept of doppelgängers. The reader catches on quickly that things aren't exactly right here.

I won't let anyone hurt you, not even myself. That's a promise that I'll always keep to you, my dear. - This whole line is ironic, because they are not going to be fine.

...I'll give you something sweeter tomorrow  - interlude ii

A girl with blonde hair and a white suit can be seen walking into a laundry room of sorts. - To clarify, this was Yoohyeon.
