"I'm so proud of you!" Sarah exclaims, embracing me into a hug.

I'd just graduated from police academy, 18 months of preparation to become a cop. Honestly, I thought I would've dropped out the first week I got there, but I needed to do this for myself. Sarah, Sarah Meeker aka the FBI Agent who was hunting me down years prior for one of the biggest open-closed cases ever, changed my life. She fought for me, and had the murder charges dropped, and gave me a second chance to have a life. Seeing potential in me while giving me time to grieve the greatest tradegy i'd ever endured, she helped me put myself back together. And here I am.

"I am too." I say, full of tears, hugging her back.

"Your parents would be so proud of you, Rach." Sarah beamed, but I could see the slight sadness in her eyes.

"I wish they were here- to see that I actually made it." I say, scanning the crowd of newly cops celebrating the graduation with their families.

"They know." Sarah says, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"What now? Are you heading back to D.C.?" I ask her, taking a whisk of the drink in my hand.

"I am, i've got a few cases to catch up on. But before I head back, we're gonna take a trip down to Chicago." She grins.

 "Chicago? Why?"

Sarah replies, "Hank Voight. He's an old friend, and I'd like you to meet him."
