~Harry Styles~Greyson
It was the most beautiful name I had ever heard.
It flowed off the tongue with such delicacy, such grace... it seemed as though it was a sin when it left my lips.
Her named echoed through my ears as she smiled, looking down at her feet as she shyed away from me. It was odd for me to see, because since the moment I had met her she was a force to be reckoned with, almost fearless of sorts. But now, she looked away from me, as if telling me her name was the vulnerable thing she had ever done.
"Greyson," I tested out, letting her name roll off of my lips as a shy smile formed upon them.
"Greyson," she repeated, finally turning to look back at me as a small blush crept onto her face.
It was almost hidden from the darkness surrounding us but thankfully from the Christmas lights captivating us I could see the small tint of pink that had my heart racing. Her gaze was locked on mine until it was flickered to the left of me, narrowing in confusion as her lips parted slightly.
"Matty," she said softly, walking behind me as I followed her closely with my eyes. "It's late buddy, what are you doing up."
She walked towards the small boy standing behind me, his cheeks rosy as his eyes glimmered with tears. He ran to her quickly, wrapping his arms around her as he nuzzled his face into her neck. She responded quickly, taking the smaller boy into her arms as she ran her hand up and down his back.
"I had a dream about Adaline," he said, small tears making their way down his face as Louis stood beside the two.
"He was crying when I walked passed his room," Louis said, putting his hand onto of Matty's shoulder as the small boy nodded his head. "Figured our little mate could spend a some time with us tonight before his first round of treatment tomorrow."
She smiled up at Louis, turning to look back at me before she let go of the boy.
"Come here," she said, standing up to take the boy's hand in hers. "Do you see my new friend over there," she questioned, pointing at me before his gaze followed hers.
He nodded his head, taking a step closer to Greyson as he placed his other hand on top of hers.
"Well," she started to say, taking a small box from the side of the wall and moved towards the edge of the roof. "His name is Harry, and guess what? He just moved into Adaline's room today."
A gasp escaped his lips, turning to look back at me as he stared with wide eyes. I wasn't exactly sure what to do, so I simply stood there, waving my hand up as he smiled and waved back. It was as though all of tears from his body had completely vanished because the toothless smile on his face was now the only thing to be seen.
"Your really lucky," he said, running over to me as he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards Greyson. "Because my mummy said that whoever moves into Addie's room gets to have her as their angel. Do you know what an angel is, Harry? It's okay if you don't, Grey had to explain it to me too."
I decided to let him have a few more moments of this happiness, so I shook my head and pretended to be shocked.
"No," I said, turning to catch a glimpse at Greyson who was smiling at us before I quickly returned my gazed to Matty. "Could you tell me what it is?"
He nodded his head eagerly before he said, "It means that she is watching over you, she is going to protect you from all the bad things in the world. But also, if something happens to you, she is going to be right there with you. Just to make sure that you're not scared or going through it alone."
