For next the following weeks in the fall half of the semester, Kira and Izuku spent time getting up to date on what had been happening in the last couple of years.
Turns out, there was a lot Kira had missed. Including the fact that Izuku had gotten lucky and earlier in the year had met his childhood hero.
Kira couldn't help but feel slightly jealous of this fact. Meeting her favorite pro was on the topmost wanted on her to-do list.
Unlike most kids who liked popular pros like Endeavor and Best Jeanist, Kira liked a lesser-known hero by the name of Matrix.
Although she was a sidekick for a time to one of the more famous pros, she soon became a pro herself, even if her quirk wasn't meant for fighting crime.
Kira idealized Matrix ever since she was a little girl, wanting to be just like her. This included the dream of attending U.A as well.
U.A was another topic in which Kira and Deku brought up during the time of their huge lunchtime chats. Not surprisingly, Deku was planning on going to U.A.
"You know it's going to be a challenge for you to get in, right?" Kira said when Deku mentioned this.
"I know. But they did get rid of the rule those without a quirk couldn't get in."
Kira frowned. "Even with that...It still might be hard, you might be lucky enough to get into the general classes."
Even if it hurt saying this, Kira was stating the facts. Yet Deku didn't look upset for some reason. He was still smiling after mentioning this fact.
"Maybe." He said finally. "But I'm still determined to do my best and get in."
Kira shook her head and gave a small grin. "You haven't changed a bit."
"You have..." Deku replied. "You use to be so timid when you were younger."
Kira laughed. "Unfortunately I couldn't afford to act timid anymore, not since I came here at least."
The boy looked down, giving a small, silent gesture of agreeance.
"So, about the English project, do you want to hit the library tomorrow so we can be ahead?" Kira asked, changing the subject.
"Huh? Oh! Yeah, that sounds good to me. We'll find lots of good information in there." Deku responded.
For the rest of the time, the two discussed the project and left their former conversations to be continued another day.
Friday soon came for the week and Kira had a mandatory rehearsal she needed to attend for Ballet. She walked with Deku halfway from the school, and then parted ways once she reached the road of her class.
"Will you be ok getting home?" she asked before leaving.
"I've got plans for a bit. But don't worry, I'll be ok!" Deku said giving a reassuring smile.
Kira nodded. "Ok, be safe, then. I'll see you Monday."
After half an hour of twirling and standing endlessly on tiptoes, Kira was finally finished with rehearsal and headed for home.
The sun began to set on the trip back home. Kira couldn't help but want to stop for a second and admire the hour of dusk.
She finally decided a couple of minutes on the beach wouldn't hurt, it was almost the weekend after all. The beach she ended up being near was Takoba Municipal Beach.
Unfortunately, this time around, it wasn't the cleanest beach, despite this Kira would stay near the dock and just watch the sunset whenever she got the chance.
