Sunrays tiptoed inside the room in spite of the grey curtains. My mind raced to last night's memories. However hard I tried to ignore the fact I couldn't, Mr Khanna wasn't beside me. Maybe yesterday also it was my hallucination. Who would want to stay with a person who hurt him not once, not twice but infinite times.

I walked to the door and as soon as I opened it, I was greeted with loud yellings.

"...understand? I'm f*cking tired of doing this Neil. Why can't you see the helplessness behind those eyes? Do you think she'd leave you just because you couldn't save her mother? Why the f*ck aren't you understanding if you look from that point of view, then let me make you face the f*cking reality, your relationship was a f*cking arrangement not love.", instantly I recognized, it was Liza's voice.

There was a momentary silence and again I heard her shouting."Say something for heaven's sake, Neil. I'm done bearing your silence. She needs you. Do you think she's happy being away from you?"

I followed her voice and the first thing my eyes caught was Mr Khanna sitting on a chair. He was glaring at some sheets kept in front of him. Liza was pacing back and forth yelling at him.

As if he knew someone was standing on the door, his eyes snapped to the entrance and my heart sank seeing how tightly his fists were clenched around the pen.

"Do you understand anything?", Liza's voice snapped me out of his eyes. She looked in my direction and instantly I was pulled into a warm embrace. My eyes never left Mr Khanna's but a lump formed inside the throat when the very next moment he averted his gaze from mine.

"Oh my God! Are you okay Avni? I was so scared when Neil brought you home in his arms.", Mr Khanna brought me? Wasn't that a hallucination? I looked into his way and I could clearly see him trying to concentrate his overpowering anger on one place."Are you even listening to what am saying?", Liza tilted my face to look at her.

"I-yeah. Yes, I'm. Don't worry I'm fine.", I reassured her but deep down I was everything but fine.

"How can you be so impulsive? You had a 104F fever yesternight. Do you even realize how scared we were? How scared N..", she was about to say something when Mr Khanna's loud order echoed in the room.

"Leave." Mr Khanna boomed. My hands fisted the shirt I was wearing tightly. Once again he told me to leave, maybe this time it is forever.

With a heavy heart, I turned but his next word made my feet halt but it made my apprehension grew."Liza."

"Bloody hell! It took a f*cking eternity to make you take this step. Do not waste it, dear cousin.", she grumbled and walked away closing the door.

Deafening cold silence radiated off Mr Khanna and it was so uncomfortable I felt to just open the door and leave him with his quietness.

All of a sudden he stopped glaring at the poor documents and rose to his feet. He stalked towards me making my breathing rapid. I was so frozen to my place that I couldn't even bring myself to step back.
