Kind Vasudev and Queen Rohini were doing a yagya with other Dwarka Royals. The yagya was done in order to provide more prosperity to the people of Dwarka.
Devi Parvati pleased by their effort came down on earth to meet them. She says-
Devi Parvati: Raja Vasudev and Queen Rohini.....I am really pleased seeing your effort for your people. I want to reward you. As a reward a part of me will be born to Dwarka. Dwarka will have a princess.
Her birth name is Chitra. She is going to be the pride of yadavs Yadavi. She will be the Dwarka's precious gem Dwarkaratna. She is your putri Vasudevini. She is Rohini and Devika's putri Rohinisutaa and Devikasutaa. She is the sister of Sesh Nag Balram Balramsodari. She is the sister of Narayan Krishna Krishnaanujaa. She is very auspicious for Dwarka, Subhadra.
Krishna: My sister is also my yogmaya. She is KrishnaYogam.
King Vasudev: Dhanyavaad Devi.
Balram: Dhanyavad Devi Parvati.
Devi Parvati nodded and disappeared. After her disappearance nature started to celebrate. There was flowers falling from heaven. Birds were chirping. Whole Dwarka gained another life. The people were very happy.
Then only the flowers from heaven started to gather together forming the ever auspicious Subhadra.
Krishna thought, "Chitra you have faced so many problems. In this birth you will be the princess. You will be treated like a queen but sadly you have to face many challenges first. You are very strong I know you will be able to overcome them"
