"Tea and Key de de de, Tea and Key de de de," Laurent sung softly to his nieces. He'd managed to rock them simultaneously in their bouncy chairs getting them to sleep while Larry got some much-needed rest in the bedroom. Their apartment overflowed with new baby items, a changing table in the corner of the living room, two bassinets on either side of the couch, and other's essentials. He watched over them until they slept peacefully in the new matching outfits his sisters picked out.

The doctors decided that Madeline still needed a few more days before they attempted to bring her out of the medically induced coma. She'd lost so much blood that they weren't sure if she'd ever be the same. Laurent stretched his long arms out over the back of the couch taking a moment for himself to rest. They'd only had the babies at their home for a few days and both of them were exhausted trying to keep up with constant feedings and diaper changes.

The sunlight streaming in from the window, along with the babies, brought a much-needed renewed energy in their home. A little statue of the Ibeyi twins he'd bought when they were in Brazil watched over the girls from the shelf above the fireplace mantel. Laurent leaned back onto the grey couch tempted to join Larry in the bed. Looking at his nieces, he knew that their lives would forever change dramatically. They would probably have to give up the past to make way for the future.

Maddy's parents and their parents were the only ones allowed to come help because of the fear of exposing the little ones to Covid. Maddy's parents were shocked to find out that Larry was the father too because of her recent love with a handsome doctor that she worked with. They assumed he was the father of the girls. Still, they agreed to a paternity test. Larry was the father.

Laurent's eyes felt so heavy that he could no longer keep them open.

Just as he shut them for a moment Larry walked into the living room stretching. He looked refreshed from his nap.

"How are my girls?" He sung. Lau quickly Shhh'd him.

"They are sleeping Daddy," Lau whispered. Larry tiptoed over sitting next to him on the couch. "You look tired Lau. Go take a nap. I got the girls," he said quietly.

Laurent felt too tired to walk to the bedroom. "I'll sleep on the couch in case you need me. Plus, we have to talk about something."

Larry knew exactly what his brother wanted to talk about. They had already paid for their upcoming music video shoot. The plane tickets were purchased, an entire production team was supposed to meet them in Dubai in a few days. Looking at his sleeping girls, Larry knew that he couldn't leave the country with them even if Lau was around to help. They were too little for traveling and Maddy's unstable health also gave him pause.
