Chapter 2

Luke's POV

"When you find her, whatever happens, do not leave her side." Gabriel warns me.

"Why do I have to be the babysitter?" I reply, heatedly. "Why not Aaron? He's the one who's affiliated to her."

Hearing the rustling of fabric on the other side of the call, I wait patiently while leaning against my black motorcycle, a beautiful beast of an Harley. The phone is passed to my brother and his commanding voice reaches my hears.

"Just do what we say, Luke. We're on our way."

The call drops before I can reply.
With a sigh, I resolutely look to Eric in order to share the change of plans when I catch a red spot in my peripheral vision.

"Who were you talking about?" Eric asks, although I can't hear him before the sight of an smokin' hot female walking towards school.

My feet, stablishing a mind of their own, follow her sweet sway of hips, her intransigent mood attracting my undivided interest and her alluring strawberry fragrance assaulting my sanity.

As if sensing me, her back stiffens and she stops walking.

Turning to me at the same time I reach her, I can't stop the feeling I get when her stunning features are revealed.

Recognition instantly flashes in her eyes, but it's soon replaced by a deep scowl, which leaves me doubting whether I imagined it or not.

"What?"

"What what?" I reply intelligently, mentally slapping my head.

She sighs deeply, while crossing her arms in annoyance.

"I know you're not Duke, so, what do you want?"

I crease my brows in confusion, as I'm completely certain I never saw this chick before... and she already knows how to discern me from my twin brother, which people rarely are capable of.

Looking with bright new eyes into this skilled being in front of me, it takes me a few more seconds to realize this girl must be the one I was suppose to keep an eye on.

Well, that won't be a problem now, that's for sure.

"I didn't knew angels could fly so low."

She rolls her eyes, in an nonsense way, while approaching me, almost predatorily.

"Not angels." She seductively murmurs, her lips rasping mine, our inhaled air becoming one and the same.

The girl lays her smooth hand on my chin and gently beats it two times.

"But demons can."

And with an heartbreaking smile that doesn't reach her eyes, she then proceeds her walk towards school, leaving me dumbly gawking at her retreat.

However, my astonishment is short timed and soon I'm catching pace with her.

Hesitating if I should talk to her or not, she beats me to it.

"No." Ruby readily tells me.

"I didn't ask anything."

"You were about to." She doesn't even turns to speak to me.

"Let me introduce you around." I suggest, anyways.

"No."

"Well, whatever you want it or not, at least I'm going to show you to the secretary. You need your schedule."

Sighing deeply, as if only now realizing I'm not leaving her alone, she resolutely nods in agreement.
