"Why are you still here, VP?"
"I'm waiting for someone," I answer, not looking at Beomgyu, but instead, intently looking down at the outline and general concept I've jotted down in my notebook.
He pulls out the chair next to me and sits on it, "Which is..."
"None of your business." I finished his sentence for him and finally look up at him, "Don't you have president duties?"
"Done," He shrugs, spinning a pen in his right hand while his left one was inside his pocket, appearing to be bored which was why I assume he chose to bother me here in the student council office once again, "You? Mrs. Jeong wanted that observation report on each class in the sophomore year today as well as the finalized funds from the school clubs."
"Had them on her desk first thing this morning," I arch a brow.
"Wow... I don't even know what I expected from you, VP."
"What, you think you're the only one that gets things done around here?"
He chuckles, "No debate club?"
"Why do you think I'm here?"
"Taking that as a yes," Beomgyu nods, "From what I've seen through my peripheral vision, you're making a research paper about... love? Since when has this school given a shit about what the students feel around here?"
I scoff, "Damn? It's actually supposed to be about marriage, about the book we need to read for literature class, that's just its title. I'm still working on it with my partner."
"An Analysis on Why People Love... Okay, and how do you suggest you make a research paper on such a broad statement? Not that I'm doubting you or anything! It just feels too... vague for a research paper." He frowns at my notebook.
"Thanks for the constructive criticism, Beomgyu," I purposefully make myself sound like I don't mean I said, "But I got this. I'll find a way. And if I can't find one, I'll make one, that's how I've always been."
"You're right... again," He stops spinning the pen and points it at me, "Also, before I forget to mention it to you, we have a meeting tomorrow with all of the captains of the sports clubs, they're demanding more financial support from the school for the next games."
"But I already gave the finalized funds to Mrs. Jeong?"
"Hmm, you know... jocks are jocks. Tomorrow's the best time to put our negotiation skills to use! What do you say, partner?"
"Ew. Do not call me that." I put a hand up in between us.
A set of knocks interrupt us, I pan my eyes over to the door, expecting either Kang Taehyun or some teacher, but neither of those was the person standing, peering timidly from the doorway.
"Hi? Are... you guys busy?"
"Hey, Jiyoung. Right now? No, I'm not actually! Just waiting for someone— Come in!" I signal for her to enter the office.
The second I mention my friend's name, Beomgyu here next to me accidentally flicks his pen in some ridiculous direction and tries to push his chair further from the table so he can, I'm assuming, stand up, but it ends with him dropping super hard on the floor that I'm convinced it caused some sort of damage to his neurons.
