"So," Felix says as Nathalie shut the door to the guest room —now Felix's room—Adrien looks at him. He's always been jealous of Felix's composure and his swift movements, Felix has always know when to draw the line and say now, whereas Adrien avoids saying no at all costs, just so he doesn't come off as rude. " I'm not the same," Felix says after a few moments of silent stares.
Adrien freezes while taking a poster out of a box. "I know you're thinking it," Felix says looking at Adrien now. "A lot has changed these past two and a half years years" Adrien internally flinches at the sincerity in his voice. Adrien sighs "I'm sorry I didn't come to your dad's funeral" Felix nods solemnly. "I know it's not your fault," Felix says, now sitting down on the edge of his bare mattress. He put his head in his hands, it was quiet for a moment "My father hasn't let me out ever since my mom went missing, That's why I couldn't come" Felix nodded standing up, "Well, that's in the past, let's just put 'my room' together" he rolled his eyes and offered a small smile.
About 30 minutes later Adrien had finished putting Felix's books onto one large bookshelf, surprisingly filling up the who thing. Felix had finished putting up all his posters in the order he wanted them. Three knocks on the door interrupted their steady chatter. Nathalie opened the door and stood next to it. "It's time for dinner," she said, holding her arm out gesturing for them to make their way downstairs.
Marinette's POV
"Hey, Mom!" I shouted as I climbed down the ladder from my room. My mother, Sabine looked at me with her eyebrows quirked up, in a question "Yes, Marinette?" She looked at me and stops baking for a moment to fulfill my needs. "Oh, it's nothing serious, I just wanted to know if Alya could come over," I say as I walk over to a chair and slide into it across from her, pulling out my phone. "Of course!" She resumes baking, what I think is her second batch of cookies, seeing cookies unguarded on a plate I snatch one. " Marinette..." my mom says in a scolding tone, I stopped mid-bite, eyebrows raised. She sighs and waves her hand, I take a bite out of my cookie and continue on my phone another text from Alya pops up, I click on it.
16:08|Alya: Hey! I heard from Nino that there is going to be a new student
16:08|Me: Oh, that's cool I guess, does he know who it is or what their name is?
16:09| Alya: Hmmm...
16:010| Alya: No, I just asked him. But he does know that it's a boy!
16:10| Me: That's good, thank god it's not another girl. Idk what I would do if another girl like Lila came to our school.
16:10| Me: Anyways are you almost here?
16:11| Alya: Yep! Walking up the stairs now, your dad let me in.
16:11| Me: Okay see you in a sec.
I turned off my phone, sighing as I got off the chair I was sitting on. My mom looked at me "Are you okay?" she asked, I thought a moment before answering. "Yeah, it's nothing, just school things—" Alya busted through the door cutting me off "Hey Sabine!" Alya smiled. She and my parents were on a first-name basis, and she loved to flaunt it in my face. "Marinette!" she squealed and ran over to hug me, knocking me down in the process. "Marinette I've missed you so much!!" she shouted in my ear, I scrunched up my nose at the noise and hear my mo chuckle from behind me. "What do you mean! You saw me like an hour ago and I literally just texted you." I said struggling to get out of her grasp. Soon enough I slipped out from under her, she laughed and shrugged her shoulders at me. I glared at her, climbing the ladder to my room.
"Bye Sabine" I heard Alya say from behind me, I opened the trap door to my room pushing myself up. I walk towards my desk, shoving my fabric and other materials aside. I turned on my computer and my beige background popped up. I heard Alya sigh from behind me, I turned around to see her sitting on my duvet. "What is it now?" I asked she looked at me with a sort of constipated look.
I clearly wasn't getting it so I just waited for her to talk, which I know she would. "Have you figured it out yet? I mean I don't even know why you've been so bummed and why you've been "excusing" Adrien's presence. I mean he hasn't even done anything, has he?" She looked at me, with worry this time. I don't even know why I haven't told her anything. She has been nothing but a good friend to me the least I can do is tell her. " I have figured it out, that why I have been acting that way towards Adrien, I guess I was a little too distant, the thing is that I like him. But I know that so many other people do too so what makes me so special. Plus he never seems upset when girls come up to him. He is always super friendly so, he must like it. Anyways I'm over him. I just want to be friends with him and that needs time." I heave all the words out panting once I'm done due to the fact I said that all in one breath. I sigh once again and look up at her sheepishly and notice that I have been pacing. She looks at me with wide eyes, presumably 'taking it all in. Her eyes settle back to their regular size, and she darts thinking. "Well," she finally says looking up at me with soft eyes that have a glint of mischief in them. "There is a new boy" ahhh there comes the mischief. I ponder those 5 words for approximately 3 seconds "Alya!" I say looking at her with a scolding look, she has always been one to follow her mischievous thoughts. She smiles "What! I mean for all we know he could be extremely cute," she says thinking once again. She gasps causing me to panic I ask her what's wrong but she shoo's me away with the wave of her hand. She starts texting furiously on her phone. I turn to my computer and start typing up ideas for our upcoming class project."Oooh Marinette, What about that one boy you saw when you were visiting your, Grandma, in London? Damn it what was his name? The one you said looked like Adrien?" I paused typing on her computer thinking back to the time I went to London over the summer, I had met a very nice charming boy, he could be Adrien's twin if he wanted but he was more how would you put it...elegant! He was more elegant than Adrien. He was already sixteen while Marinette was turning 16 on the 7th of that month. "Uhm," I said sheepishly looking at my feet "He never, uh I knew his name. I forgot to ask." I looked back up at Alya who was looking at me, then she started laughing, I mean rolling on the floor kind of laughing. She wiped non-existent tears from her eyes. "Girl, you are too much sometimes." She chuckled again at her statement and I turned back around in my chair think back to that one time in July when she had met one very charming young man.
