Look At Me

Relief

     I mentally thanked the lord who helped me rescuing the one person I've been wanting to see. My excitement overcame me that I couldn't keep my eyes off of hers. She probably felt it and awkwardly rubbed her arm from the uncomfortable atmosphere between us. I snapped back to reality and lend her cane back close to her wrist.

     "Uh....here" I said, trying to maintain my voice but completely failed.

     She hesitated for a moment then took it with relief. "Thanks for saving me back there, If it weren't for you then I would've been gone."

Her voice was so gentle yet soft as if every words that came out of her mouth smoothly and danced in my ear then melts on my heart.

"Y-you're welcome. Heh." I face palmed from how stupid my response was.

"Oh mind my manner but my name's Yvioné"

"O-oh- uh... Lyra"

I offer my hand to her, waiting for a handshake. After 5 second I facepalmed again then cursed under my breath.

"Shit! I'm sorry I forgot you're uh...blind"

She giggled then said "it's alright, I'm used to it anyways."

We both made our way back to the same coffee store and chatted till the sun dropped. It felt like the time went by quick, not wanting to stop having a chat with her but it was time for her to go back home since her parents would be worried. I decided to take her back home because the night took over. She didn't reject my offer and happily waited till we reach her destination. The car was quiet, quiet enough for her to hear my heart beat aggressively fast but it's a good thing that she didn't hear it though. We finally reached her house and I realized that we're in the suburbs.

"Well...we're here, I hope I get to see you again" I said, getting out of the car and head to the other side just to open her door.

She unfold her cane then taps the ground finding her way off the road, the gate opens on its own as the security waits for Yvioné. Before going in she held on my hand and gives me a smile but I wanted her to look me in the eyes.

"I hope too. Well goodnight Lyra, it was nice meeting you."

I watched her disappear from the entrance with the security, while my face starts to frown with every each steps she takes. Well today was fun alright.
