"What now?" Forsythia asked. The knife had been returned to Nightshade and the duck was resting in Datura's palms.

"It's needs to eat, probably." Datura said. "Where to find food is another matter."

"Yeah, it's not like we can just walk into the nearest pet shop." Thorn said sarcastically.

"I told you this would be a problem." Nightshade's voice drawled. "I have to admit it's cute, though."

Datura rolled his eyes and ignored his best friend. "Let's try the things that are around us right now and see what he'll eat."

"It's a he?" Nightshade asked.

"Yes. Are you going to help or not?"

"No- I'm just said it won't lay eggs."

Datura-again- rolled his eyes and set to splitting the gang into two groups- Adenium, Rose, Thorn, and Forsythia for one group and himself, Hemlock, Petals, Wolfsbane, and Bittersweet. After a good 15 minutes of scrounging around while Nightshade walked around and bugged everybody, they came back with something to show.

Almost everyone had collected several handfuls of grass. They had managed to find other greenery in the ditch as well as a couple slugs. Slowly, Datura tried to feed the items to the duckling. To his surprise he ate everything except the dandelions, even the slugs.

"So we know what he eats." Datura summed up. "I figured he'd eat the grass and weeds, but I'm shocked he went for the slugs. We should give him a chance to eat whenever we can."

"How do you know so much about ducks?" Rose asked.

"I wrote a science report in sixth grade." He admitted. "Apparently the knowledge hasn't left me."

"It's needs a name." Bittersweet signed to Nightshade, who was standing by with a bored look.

"Bittersweet wants to name it." Nightshade with the slightest hint of a smile.

"Oh, what about Raphael?" Hemlock volunteered, feeding the duck a slug.

"Raphael the Duck?" Rose asked. "No way. I like Kevin."

"Kevin?" Petals asked. "Why not Stephen? It's a good duck name."

Nightshade cut in with a sigh. 'Bittersweet, what do you think?' she signed.

'Donald.' Bittersweet signed back, happily. 'Duh.'

So the duck became Donald the Slug-Eating Duck.
