Hey, it's Hunter. I wasn't originally planning on updating today, but i got bored and this story is a big part of my motivation at the moment, so because you guys are great, Here's a small extra half chapter kinda thing. A little filler, probably some of the most light hearted there's gonna be in this story. It's still relevant to the plot, but it's just something small until the next chapter. hope you enjoy ^^

"You doing okay kid?" Eda's voice rang from another room.

"Yes," Hunter responded plainly. He was currently seated on the couch while The owl lady retrieved the first aid kit to help Hunter with his wound.

"Alright. Let's see," She came around the corner, rummaging through the kit. She sat next to the blonde, setting the first aid kit in her lap and taking out a wet cloth. She raised her hand to his face, to which he flinched. Eda's face twisted in confusion and concern.

Hunter's eyes gave a wordless apology. He avoided eye contact, fidgeting with his fingers.

Eda gave a reassuring glance. She dabbed the cloth on Hunter's face, cleaning the blood that remained on his face. "So do you want to talk about it? What happened, I mean?"

He sighed softly, slouching his shoulders. "Belos found something I shouldn't have even had. When I refused to give it to him," He trailed off. "Let's just say, that was the end of the golden guard."

Eda nodded, understanding what he meant. She didn't say anything, just continued cleaning the wound.

"I could have done this myself, you know, I can clean a small wound," The boy complained.

She just chuckled and shook her head. However, one thing he said bothered her. What did he mean small? He was lucky not to have gotten his sight damaged, and it would definitely leave a scar. She wouldn't push it, but she wouldn't let it go for good. For now, she just completed the task at hand. "There, you're all good." She rose and turned to leave, "And hey, I don't know much, but I'm proud of you. I bet he is too," She said, Pointing to the cardinal palisman who was occupying Hunter's head. With that, she disappeared into the hallway.

Flapjack chirped happily and hopped down to Hunter's shoulder, nuzzling his cheek as if to comfort him. Hunter smiled. "Thanks, bird."
