Evie works throughout the day and goes to the break room to get herself some coffee, where she meets another female employee in the break room. The employee notices her and gets her attention. "Hey, you're Mr Hawkes' new personal assistant, right?", she asked.
Evie looks at her and is confused. "Yes, I am. And are you one of the female employees that Mr Hawkes messes around with?", Evie asked.
Evie's question offended the employee. "What?! Are you kidding me?! Hell no! I'm not stupid to fall for Mr Hawkes' charms! Unlike the other employees he messes with, I'm the only one who rejects Mr Hawkes' advances.", she yelled.
"I'm disgusted every time I see a different girl coming into his office for sex. It drives me crazy!", she cried. "Sounds like you're the smartest one out of all the female employees here.", Evie replied. "Well, I'm not the only one. I'm Rebecca Gold.", Rebecca smiled, offering her hand to Evie.
"Evie Collins.", Evie smiled, shaking Rebecca's hand. "Nice to meet you, Evie. So, how's your first day here?", Rebecca asked. "A total disaster. I walked in on Mr Hawkes with a female employee. He then ranted at me for not knocking on the door before entering.", Evie sighed. "I'm sorry.", Rebecca sighed.
"It's fine.", Evie sighed, as she resumes making her coffee. "Hey, you wanna talk?", Rebecca asked. "About what?", Evie asked. "Well, about yourself, and maybe getting to know you.", Rebecca replied. "Sure.", Evie smiled, as she takes her coffee and joins Rebecca at the table.
Rebecca and Evie starts a conversation and share a laughter, even telling each other stories about their childhood. "Oh my gosh! That is crazy!", Rebecca cried. "I know, right.", Evie laughed. Then Benson goes into the break room and the girls remain silent when they see him.
Benson looks in the cupboard to find any snacks and Evie decides to avoid him by walking out. "Hey, I better get going. Got lots of work to do. But I'll talk to you later?", Evie replied. "Yep sounds good. See you later, Evie.", Rebecca smiled. "Bye.", Evie smiled, before walking out of the break room.
Benson follows her out. "Evie!", Benson called out. Evie sighs with annoyance as he's behind her. "Evie, wait up!", Benson called out, as Evie stops and turns to him. "I prefer Evelyn!", Evie replied. "What?", Benson asked. "Only my friends and family can call me Evie. But you can only call me Evelyn!", Evie replied.
"Look, I know we didn't go off to a great start.", Benson cried. "No! We didn't! You ranted at me and said harsh words!", Evie yelled. "I know and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. It's your first day at work and I don't you to have a bad day on your first day.", Benson replied.
"Well, you did. Made my first day hell!", Evie yelled, as she walks away. "Evelyn!", Benson cried, but Evie walks away, ignoring him. At the end of the day, Evie packs her bag and prepares to head home, when Benson comes to her office.
"Can I come in?", Benson asked. "No.", Evie replied. However, Benson walks inside anyways. "Hey, what part of no don't you understand?", Evie asked. Benson looks at her office and is fascinated at her decors. "Wow, a lot of British things in here.", Benson replied. "Yes, I'm English. I have a lot of UK things.", Evie replied.
"What do you want, Mr Hawkes?", Evie asked. "I want to see if you're ok.", Benson replied. "I'm fine. Now can you please leave?", Evie asked. "Why?", Benson asked. "Because I don't want to talk to you.", Evie replied, as she finishes packing her bag, and leaves the building.
At the Collins' household, Evie's parents, George and Fiona and sister, Desiree are getting dinner ready as Evie arrives home from work. "I'm home!", Evie called out. "Hey, Evie!", Desiree greeted. "How was your first day at work?", George asked. "It was ok.", Evie replied. "Dinner's almost ready!", Fiona replied.
"Ok, be down soon.", Evie replied, as she walks up the stairs and to her bedroom. Later she join her family for dinner. "So, how was your first day at work?", Fiona asked. "What's it like to become your boss' new personal assistant?", Desiree asked. "It's fine and my boss not who I expected.", Evie replied.
"Really? Why?", George asked. "I walked in on him with one of his female employees in his office.", Evie replied, which causes her family to spit and cough. "What?!", all of her family replied at the same time. "You're kiddin'?", Desiree asked. "I wish, Dez. But not only that, he ranted at me for not knocking his door before entering.", Evie replied.
"What?!", Fiona asked in shock. "Ouch.", Desiree replied. "He did what?!", George asked. "You heard me, Dad. He literally humiliated me in the spot.", Evie replied. "He has no right to do that!", Fiona replied. "It's fine, Mum.", Evie replied. "Sounds like he's an asshole.", Desiree replied.
"Desiree!", Fiona called out. "Sorry, Mum. I just don't like the way he treats Evie like that.", Desiree sighed. "I know, me too. But no cursing in this house, please.", Fiona replied. "Come on, I need a quiet night. Can we please don't talk about this anymore?", Evie asked, and her family agrees as they resume their dinner.
That same night, Evie was lying in bed, thinking about when she met Benson that morning, and when he rants at her for not knocking his door. "What a spoiled brat?!", Evie replied to herself, before going to bed.
Meanwhile, Benson is lying in bed, thinking about Evie and the way she avoid him. "She's so feisty and nerdy. But yet, behind those glasses, she's very beautiful.", Benson sighed, turning off his lights.
