The Truth Comes Out

The next day, Benson wakes up from the hospital, as his two brothers are visiting. "Benson!", Glen cried. "Glen? Jacob?", Benson asked. "Yes, it's us, mate.", Jacob replied. "Where am I?", Benson asked. "You're in the hospital, you were stabbed.", Jacob replied. 

"What? Agh!", Benson cried, from the pain of his stab wound, and lifts his shirt to see his wound in stitches. "Hey, take it easy. Just lay back down.", Glen replied. "Where's Evie?", Benson asked. "Evie's not here.", Jacob replied. "What do you mean?", Benson asked.

Glen and Jacob looks at each other as Benson is confused. "Guys?", Benson asked. "Benson, Evie's gone.", Glen sighed. "What are you talking about, she's gone?", Benson asked. Glen gives Benson his phone, showing him Evie's last text message. Benson reads it and realise Evie has left town and gone somewhere. 

"I must call her!", Benson cried. "I wouldn't do that if I were you.", Jacob cried, but Benson dials Evie's number, but it went to voicemail. "Her phone is disconnected. None of us could get hold of her.", Glen replied. "How's Evie's family holding up?", Benson asked. "They're shocked and devastated.", Jacob replied. 

"This is all my fault. I put her in a risk of my lies, and I hurt the only woman I've ever loved. I thought I found the one.", Benson sighed. "You never loved a girl before and Evie is the first woman you ever wanted to be with, since you lifestyle.", Glen replied. 

"Well, my lifestyle as a playboy and a womaniser is done! I finally chose the girl who I want to stay with and now I lost her.", Benson cried. Glen and Jacob are shocked of what their brother said, as they never seen him change so much. 

"And the whole world deserves to know the truth about my marriage. No more lies! It's time to tell the truth.", Benson replied. Benson spend another day at hospital until he is discharged and went back home. He eventually makes a full recovery and plans on holding a media conference, to tell everyone the truth. 

Benson is faced by cameras, news reporters, journalists and the media press, as he prepares to talk. "Hello, everyone. As you may know about my recent hook-up with a woman who wasn't my wife, but I want to say that I apologise for everyone that is disappointed in me.", Benson sighed. 

Meanwhile, Benson's family and Evie's family watch his media conference on TV at their homes, and Evie also watches it on the TV in her cabin. 

"But I'm not here to talk about it, I'm going to tell you the truth behind my marriage. The truth is, my marriage to my wife, Evie, wasn't real love at all. We got married by accident while in a drunken state during a business trip in Las Vegas.", Benson sighed, which shocks everyone at the media conference. 

"I feared that if everyone found out the truth of my marriage, I would have lost my fame, my career, and my family's reputation. So I lied to everyone who is watching this, including my family that I married my wife, from love. But now, I knew it was wrong. I wish I could go back and time and prevented this. But as we all say, we can't go back and undo the past.", Benson sighed. 

"I want to say to everybody, including my parents, my siblings, my in-laws and my wife, Evie that I'm genuinely sorry. Thank you for listening.", Benson sighed as he leaves the media conference and visits his parents. Paul and Victoria looks at Benson who arrives to the front door. 

There was an awkward silent moment between them, when Victoria goes towards him and hugs him. Benson hugs his mother and cries, as she comforts him. Later he faces Paul, who then hugs him. "I'm proud of you, son.", Paul sighed. Benson hugs Paul back and cries. 

"I'm sorry.", Benson sighed. "We know, darling.", Victoria sighed, as she hugs both her son and husband. "I found out from Glen and Jacob that Evie left out of town.", Benson replied. "Yes, she did, she left us a group message.", Paul replied. "I know, Glen and Jacob showed me.", Benson replied. 

"We tried calling her to see where she is, but her phone has gone straight to voicemail.", Victoria replied. "She did say in the text that she doesn't want any of us to find her.", Benson replied. "All she said was not to worry about her, and that she's safe, but told us not to find her.", Victoria sighed. 

Meanwhile, Evie is walking in the snow, in her unknown destination and looks at the sky as it snows down. She smiles, as a snowflake lands on her hand. 2 days later, in the evening, Benson, is sitting at home alone, thinking about Evie. He remembers her text message from the group chat and calls Jacob to come over. 

Jacob arrives in a hurry and has no idea what is going on. "Benson, what is going on?", Jacob asked. "Let me see your phone.", Benson replied. "What?", Jacob asked. "Just give it to me!", Benson cried. Jacob gives him his phone and Benson looks at the group message goes through the list of contacts of the group chat and realises that Desiree is not on the group chat. 

"Desiree!", Benson cried, realising that Desiree knows Evie's whereabouts. He quickly gets to the Collins' household and knocks on the door. Desiree opens it and is not surprised to see Benson. "What do you want?", Desiree asked. 

"I need you to tell me where Evie is.", Benson replied. "Sorry, but I promise my sister that I wouldn't tell anyone where she is, including you.", Desiree replied. "Look Desiree, I know you hate me right now, and I'm sorry that I hurt your sister.", Benson replied. 

"You're sorry?! You didn't just hurt her by cheating on her, you also hurt her by having her involved in your lies!", Desiree yelled. "Desiree, please. I need to find Evie, can you please tell me where she is right now?", Benson asked. "And why should I tell you?", Desiree asked in a sassy way. 

"Because she matters to me. I rather lose my fame and career, rather than lose your sister. Desiree, I'm so sorry, truly I am. Please, tell me where's Evie?", Benson asked in a begging way. Desiree sighs and looks down for a while. 

"Alright, Evie's in Utah. She's staying in a cabin called Storybook Stone Cottage at Sundance, in Utah. Here's the address she send me.", Desiree replied, sending the address to Benson's phone. "Thank you.", Benson replied, as he leaves the house and returns home to pack his bag and book a flight to Utah.
