His Light

"So, who do you wanna be roommates with, prisoner 84913?"

"I wanna be roommates with a woman that goes by the name of Sara Smith."

"Oh, you mean prisoner 84912?"

"Yeah? Did she get here before me?"

"Yeah, she's quite the oddball."

"Why?" I asked.

"She participated in a protest that resulted in the deaths of 253 citizens and didn't show any feelings on court, but now she's all regretting her actions."

"I see. Anyways, when's my next round of the arena?"

"Oh, you're excited I see, well it's two weeks from now."

"That's plenty of time to prepare." "Well, I may guide you to your new cell, prisoner 84913."

As I walked towards my new cell, Sara was already in it. "Walter!" She called out to me.

"From now on, you won't get a sloppy lowlife with you now."

"So you survived the match?"

"Flawlessly, but I got to ask, why show remorse now if you didn't show remorse in court."

"Oh, so you know my backstory now?"

"Not in detail though."

"Well it was because of this new era where everything is related to robots and cyber now, and the government was planning to do experiments on humans, my child was one of the chosen 'subjects' for the new human race, 'Neo-Humans', pretty crazy right? But I knew if there was human experiment related to it, it'll be suffering through hell, and I didn't want my baby to go through that, so I joined the protest along with my husband. When things escalated and we were on court, my husband covered for me since I was the one who hurt the most people and he received a worse death sentence than me, he's...probably dead by now. That's when I finally realised my actions led to me losing all of my beloved ones."

"You wanna know something about me as well?"

"What is it?"

"I'm one of the first 'Neo-Humans'" I whispered.

"Y-You w-what?"

"It's true, my super strength proves it."

"H-How?"

"Well my memories are pretty faint, this is all I can remember. When my turn for the arena is up, I'll be requesting my freedom. If you want to make what's right, convince me and I'll throw your freedom along with mine."

"That's impossible! You'll die immediately no matter what you try if you request for mine as well, the Elite General of this death row is a 'Neo-Human' as well and I am sure his abilities surpasses you in every way! Just escape by yourself, don't worry about me."

"Now I'm super convinced to help you escape with me."

"No!!...I just...don't want to lose anyone anymore because of me."

"Look at me. I'm a 'Neo-Human' as well. If I say I can beat anyone, then I can beat anyone. Trust me."

A day later......

"Get out of your cells now!!! It's lunchtime!!!! Move, move!!!!!" I was walking alongside with Sara to grab our lunch when it happened......

"Didn't I say that seducing her would mean war with me?"

"Oh, the fat guy's back with another medium guy." I scoffed.
