Chapter 16- Been the girl he always loved

"You're the one I'm supposed to remember, am I right? " He asked looking directly into my eyes and I couldn't lie looking at them

"Answer me, Y/n!" He slightly raised his voice

"Taehyung, let's talk somewhere else. There are people around" I said but in reply he didn't say anything instead he caught my wrist and walked towards the place where his car was parked. He signaled me to get in and I did while he sat on the driver's seat. He heavily sighed before saying,

"You knew it all along yet you didn't tell me?" He asked but this time rather a calm tone

"I couldn't pressurize you to remember anything cause it could worsen your health" I replied looking down not having the courage to face him

"Seriously Y/n? Why are you always so selfless? Why don't you think about yourself once?! All you saw was my health, did you ever care about yourself?! You haven't changed a bit! You were and you still are selfless compared to 2 years back!" He raised his voice

"If-f something happened to you again-n, I won't-t be able to stop blaming myself-f" I managed to speak on the verge of crying. Seeing my state, Taehyung's eyes softened

"Hey, hey. Don't cry. It isn't your fault" He said wiping my tears trying to console me

"Of course-e, it's-s my fault-t. I was the one-e who asked-d for divorce-e and if I hadn't-t done that-t, we wouldn't-t have argued, nor would you-u have gone-e out, nor would all of this-s happened" I said while sobbing

"Y/n, it was me who came in front of car not because of you. It has nothing to do with you. Please stop blaming-g yourself.... I.... I can't see you like-e this" He spoke softly the last night

"Taehyung-g.... I'm so sorry-" Before I could complete my sentence he hugged me

"Don't. It's not your fault" He said caressing my hair while I kept sobbing

"I never got to-o say how-w much I love-e you..." I spoke while sniffing as he chuckled 

"You do?"

"A lot!" I said nodding at his statement 

[Time skip: Few days later]

"Where are we going Taehyung?" I asked glancing at him who has been continuously driving for over an hour

"Tell me! I can't feel my legs after sitting for so long!" I whined

"Have patience" The same thing he said half an hour ago

"You said that half an hour ago!" I whined again

"Stop whining!"

"Not until you tell me where we are going!" I replied to which he sighed heavily

"Unless you want me to take my eyes off the road and have an accident, you can keep whining" He said as I immediately kept quiet

After a good 20 minutes, I opened my eyes when I felt like he parked his car. Looking around I found Taehyung unbuckling his seatbelt

"Where are we?" I asked

"Look around" He replied as I looked around in 'awe'

It was a freaking drive-in theatre! He remembered!

"You remembered?" I asked

"I had to! You were the one who called me anti-romantic!" He replied

"I hope you didn't remember that part" I mumbled 

"Get ready, they are starting" He said and I nodded

Soon the movie, 'Been the girl he always loved' started playing. I felt like my dream came true. Go to a drive-in theatre with someone you love. Well, he was the one who fulfilled this dream of mine

The moonlight entered the car which warmed the environment. He looked heavenly in moonlight. But the way he held my hand made me feel at ease. I was sure of one thing, that we won't leave me. Taking a look at me he passed a small smile before focusing back on the movie playing

'I never got a chance to tell him how much I love him'  I thought 

"Are you enjoying?" He asked bringing me back from my thoughts

"huh? Yes, I am" I replied as he nodded and focused on the movie

'It's now or never!' I thought before removing my seatbelt. I climbed over and sat on his lap. He looked at me with wide eyes which were on the verge of popping out from their sockets

"Y/n-" He was cut of when I smashed my lips on his softs lips. He was a bit taken aback but he soon responded as his hands supported my back as he leaned in to deepen the kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him more closer to which he let out a chuckle followed by me

We soon pulled away for the lack of oxygen. We both starred into each other eyes before I looked away earning a chuckle from him. Tucking of a strand of my hair, he asked,

"What was that for huh?" 

"I never got to tell you how much I love you! It's always been you who confessed. I never did" I replied

"But you could've just said that. Why did you kiss me?" He teased me

"Stop teasing me! Don't act like you didn't enjoy it!" I teased back to which he giggled 

"Of course I liked it! After all, it's from my beloved wife!" I blushed at the word 'wife' which didn't go unnoticed by him. Without wasting time, he leaned for another kiss and I gladly kissed him back. Resting my head on his forehead, I said,

"I love you so much, Mr. Kim" He giggle before saying

"I love you, secretary Y/n"
