Manabu: You all are officially genin.
Silence was on our end as I was polishing my blade as Kei tended to Suzune's wounds.
Me: When will we be going on regular missions, sensei?
Manabu looked over to me.
Manabu: Whenever they come through. Since you all are genin, I will now give you all a schedule I already made up while I tailed the three of you on your little journey.
He gave each of us a copy as I looked at it.
Me: Meeting times are the entire morning and whenever we have a mission?
Manabu nodded.
Manabu: Although I saw promising aspects during your performances, in order for the three of you to work in complete sync, you all need to understand what each of you can do and will do in any given situation.
He points to Me and Suzune.
Manabu: You two can be a deadly pair if the two of you work together in sync. Both of you are excellent in taijutsu, and seem to tolerate one another.
I looked over at Suzune as she looked at me.
Me: I guess we really could work well together.
Kei: I doubt it. You'd probably just kill her too with that larg-
Manabu threw a pebble at her forehead.
Kei: Ow
Manabu: And you, Kei. I frankly didn't find anything commendable on your performance, other than you striving to protect Suzune at the end. However, I do see potential for great growth. That is why, in part, I didn't fail you.
Chakra came off his hands as he hit a tree beside us, destroying it instantly.
Manabu: What you need is something signature about you and only you.
Me: She could annoy people to death.
Kei: What was that!
Me: You know what I said.
Manabu put his hand on his face, pondering about the enormous task he was forced to undertake: How to make Kei useful.
Suzune: We aren't going to get anywhere if we keep fighting each other guys!
I got up and put my sword on my back, buckling a few chains as well.
Me: You're right. Then I propose an idea.
Manabu: Interesting. Tell us.
Me: I'll train her to be a support to our 3-person group.
Kei: So what? Like a healer or something?
Me: Of course not. Medical jutsu is incredibly complicated. Genin rarely are able to execute it. That will come with time.
Suzune: Then do you want her to be like what, exactly?
I took out my scroll and went through some of scripture, selecting a weapon I never use: a bow.
It manifests out of it and onto my hands, along with a single arrow.
I threw it at Kei as she barely caught it.
Kei: A bow?
Suzune: Oh. Kei can be a long distance fighter.
Me: Exactly.
