As soon as Avery is on her way back to Texas, Tyler and Caroline excuse themselves too. That left me alone with the brothers and Elena, Jeremy, Matt, and Bonnie. If it wasn't for Matt, I'm pretty sure I would have felt totally outnumbered.

"Okay, so you are vampires, anything else I need to know about?" I ask, glancing around the room. We have all found ourselves in Elena's kitchen, standing around the island.

"Well..Bonnie's a witch, Tyler's a werewolf, we have a hybrid who is out for our blood, Jeremy sees ghosts, but other than that we're completely normal," Matt says, shooting me a grin.

"What about you? What kind of impossible thing are you?" I ask curiously.

"Me? I think I'm the only human in this whole town, well besides you now," he states as he comes to stand beside me.

"You may be human, Donovan, but that doesn't mean Jayda wants you all up in her personal space," Damon snaps, shooting glares at the two of us. I smirk a little to myself and wrap my arm around Matt's waist to keep him next to me. He shoots me a surprised glance but then wraps his arm around my shoulders as he catches on to the little game.

"Looks like she wants me here," Matt grinned at Damon and shot me a wink. I have to admit he is pretty sexy in his own way.

"Okay enough. We need to figure out a way to keep Jayda off of Klaus's hit list. The last thing we need is for her to get mixed up in all of this. He would go after her first just because she's the weak link right now," Elena states matter-of-factly, which makes my blood boil.

"Excuse me? Who the hell do you think you are to tell me that I'm the weak link when you don't even know me?" I say calmly, making everyone look at me with worried expressions.

"I'm just saying that you aren't used to all of this. That makes you a liability," she says just as calm.

"I've outsmarted cops, scared the people who were in juvy with me, and I'm pretty sure you're not exactly known for your strength," I spit at her. I decided to leave out the fact that I'm a trained MMA fighter.

"You don't understand. Vampires are way stronger than humans. Your ability to manipulate people won't help you here," she argued. I've noticed how everyones head keeps going back and forth from her to me, like an interesting tennis match.

"Manipulating people is an excellent skill to have here, if you want the townsmen to keep believing they live in a normal town. And as for them being strong, I'm willing to try to fight one. You know, just so I can see what I'm up against," I smirk at her. She looks at me with a death glare before someone clears their throat.

Stefan goes to wrap his arm around Elena before he looks at me.

"I'm not sure that's such a good idea," He says with worry clear in his eyes. Normally I would have been happy that he cared enough to try to keep me safe, but right now the only thing I can focus on is how much I just want to hit something. Elena pissed me off so bad, I'm starting to see red.

"I think it's an interesting idea. I say we let her fight and see what she has," Damon pipped up, still shooting glares at Matt's arm.

"And who is going to fight her? Because I know I won't and I'm positive Caroline won't either, and if you have any sort of brain you won't either," Stefan says seriously.

"Well it's a good thing I'm not known for my smarts," Damon smirks at me. I can already picture punching his face as hard as I can.

"Good. Let's go," I command and start walking to the front door.

"Where are you going," Damon asks, catching my wrist and pulling me towards him. I look up into his piercing blue eyes and pull my arm back.

"Your house. I'm sure Elena doesn't want her precious house fucked up, and she has neighbors," I say and continue walking until I make it to Damon's car, hopping into the passenger seat.
