it was the next morning, the sun peeked it's way through the curtains. Elysia tossed around the comfy warm blankets and their eyes slowly opened. They smelt something coming from another room, it was ashy and thick. smelt like something was on fire. They quickly stumbled their way off the bed in panic, the smell creeped closer and closer as they ran towards the kitchen.

Garfield stood there holding his tray of burnt lasagne with a melancholy expression on his face.

he had tried to make Jon's classic lasagne.

"Garfield- uh- are you okay?"

"*sniff sniFF* y-yeah. i'm fine. i juthst can't seem to get this rethipee right and-"

"hey hey now. it's gonna be alright!"

"...."

"let's try making it together!" Elysia said while putting their hands together in excitement.

"thure (sure)." Garfield said with a little smile.

Elysia felt their heart get all warm seeing Garfields smile. it's been a while since they've had lasagne together without Jon there. Elysia still couldn't stop thinking about yesterday. Was that really.... the real Jon?.....

Garfield handed the recipe that Jon made in his own handwriting to Elysia. Elysia examined the recipe carefully.

"first, we need aprons." Elysia said with a determined look on their face.

They walked over to one of the cupboards and rummaged through all the junk.
"geez you have a lot of weird stuff in this cupboard... IS THAT A NEWBORN CHILD???—oh it's just a doll... okay... why do you have a doll in your kitchen? did you plan on cooking it?-" Elysia said a little bit judgmentally.

"sometimes i just put stuff in there when there's no place elthe for it." Garfield said casually.

"ah, okay.." Elysia said still judging him a little.

"oh! jackpot!" Elysia pulled out two aprons. One was plain white and classy and the other said "best little chef" with polkadots and stars all over it— it looked a little childish to say the least. it originally belonged to Elysia when they where 7 years old and used to bake with Jon. it brought back many memories.

"this ones too small for me— here ya go."

Elysia threw the childish apron at Garfield and giggled.

"..... 'bethst LITTLE chef'..... i am not that sthort.... nor am i a child."

"too bad~" Elysia teased Garfield.

"i am NOT putting it on- WHAT ARE YOU DOING GET IT OFF MEEEEEE UGHHH GET OOFFFF"

"HAHA NOPE. YOU'RE WEARING IT LOSER"

Garfield ended up wearing the apron.

"hmph." Garfield clearly was annoyed.

The ingredients where already out from attempt 1 so everything was already together. Elysia just cleaned the mess up a little bit and got to work making the lasagne.

They both got to work making the lasagne together. surprisingly, everything went smoothly and there where no spills!

once everything was put together, Garfield put it into the oven to let the lasagne cook.

"you know... i have a good feeling about this actually!" Garfield said happily.

Elysia and Garfield both felt very accomplished looking at their lasagne in the oven.

"me too! team work makes the dream wor—"

KA BOOM

the lasagne exploded.

all over Elysia and Garfield.

They both stood in front of the oven in shook. everything was quiet for a little.

the kitchen was even more of a mess than before. lasagne was EVERYWHERE.

"w-well.... uh.... i bet it probably tastes fine!-"
Elysia said trying to cheer garfield up

"don't- don't try to eat it. let just order some."

"where?..."

"Garfield Eats... obviously..."

"yeah okay that works"

and so they ordered lasagne online and ate it on the couch.
