Elle POV

"Ouch!" I was lost in my own thoughts again, not watching where I was going and I tripped in the sand. I had been a long week and the heat wasn't helping. I took out my compass to make sure that I was going the right way, then sighed and kept walking. 

I had gotten a letter a few weeks back that my mother, Eleanor, had just died and I was to now live with someone named 'Dream'. I had heard stories about him from my caretaker, Bella. They were the only good things that came out of my childhood. From the stories I heard, Dream was an amazing fighter who had taken down nations and would do anything to keep his family and friends safe. I don't know if the stories are true I just hope that he is better then Bella. 

I saw a village nearby and decided to stop and take a break, now only being a few hundred blocks away, I decided to take a quick break and enjoy the moment of rest while I thought of how my new family would be like. I looked at the note that I had been given to me when my Mum passed. There was a part down the bottom that I assume was written by dream, he wrote a little about some of his friends, as I went to fold the letter up, I saw a little pocket in the paper that could hold a note, I looked inside and there was a note. I felt so stupid for not seeing it there in the first place. I took it out and it read:

Hi there Elle,

I know that you probably won't remember me, but I have been thinking about you for longer then you know. I am excited to finally see you again, I've missed you so much. I can't wait for you to meet my friends, George and Nick. They are such nice people and I think that you will all be good friends. I can't wait to see you again. Well talk soon I guess,

Your Dream xx

"Huh" I accidently said out loud, getting a few stares from the other people in the house. Dream knew me? My Dream? See me again? A million thoughts went through my head. But I realised that they all can be answered when I finally get to see Dream. I showed a villager my map that I had been given and asked how far away it was until my destination, and he told be it was around 100-200 blocks away. I was so close! So close to being away from all my hurt, all the pain of not knowing how my mother was apart from her name. The pain of my past. I looked at the big gash on my side, no more abusive caretaker. 

I walked all of 50 blocks before I came into a spruce forest. Biomes really confuse me, that or the reason I never learnt geography, it was too hard. I'd prefer to be in the kitchen any other day secretly learning a new dessert that I can make to impress Bella enough so that I could eat dinner. ( umm, your author may be a dessert nerd...) I looked up just before running into a tree, that was too close, I thought. I looked up and saw big walls, I was instantly nervous, what if they don't like me? Will I be abused like my past? Dream sounded too nice to do that.

*TW OVER*

All thoughts left my brain when I saw a man near the gates, he had a lime green hoodie, he wore a white mask with a smile on it. There were small puffs of dirty blond hair that escaped there spot on his hoodie. He came over to me, I stared to get really nervous again. "Hello, I'm Dream, your Elle right?" His voice was soft and it instantly reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it. "Yes that's me" I replied. He took a minute of looking me up and down, it made me nervous. Did he not like me? Did I say something wrong"  My thoughts stopped when he came up and wrapped his arms around me. I hugged him back just as tight. I had never experience a hug as brotherly as this. A few tears ran down his face as he hugged me. We parted from the hug and he looks me in the eye. He is quite tall even though I'm 5"7. He must be over 6"0 I thought to my self. He gently lifts me chin up so we lock eyes. "I've missed you so much" He says, trying not to cry over the sister he thought he had lost.
