he was the ocean
that I was drowning in.
he couldn't stand the winter
while I bathed in ice.
he melted my curves and edges.
I slipped right
through his fingers.
we're miles away, just across the room.
im melting into the cracks on the ground;
your burning brighter than the sun.
i hate this poem like I hate
the way your several hazes
collapsed on me when the warmth started to burn your insides.
you weren't destroying me,
I was already ruined.
you just carved my ice into diamonds.
you just calmed my storm.
