Today is going to be a bad morning.
Firstly, my period something I and my friends call red sister. She came when she wasn't even meant to.
Like she's supposed to come out next two weeks.

But she had to come out today. TODAY

My phone rang, jolting me away from my thoughts.
I saw Lexi's name on the screen, smiling, and answering the phone.
"Hey lex,"
"Oh,dear sister in law how are you?" Lexi said,cheery as ever.
"Why do you take joy in flattering me?"
"Urgh, you kill joy, you need a ride?"
"Yes please, I spray painted a building with Mae's car, I don't want to have to beg her for it." I told Lexi.
"Good, cos I'm at your house with chocolate milkshake and a suprise!"
"Is your brother the suprise?"
"No? What? Who the heck is Alan? Never even heard of him, come down, you're wasting my time." Lexi said.
I rolled my eyes.
How was this girl my best friend? I walked down the stairs going to meet my family. Which consisted of my father and my sister.
As I walked down,I heard my dad and sister talking in hush tones.
"Do you think we should tell her?" I heard Mae ask my father,her voice dry and weak.
Tell me what?
I wondered to myself. It had to be me,right?
"I don't think that's a good idea. Let's wait till she gets back from school today,"
"That's not fair," Mae snapped her voice becoming louder.
"Maeve, she could here is," Dad hissed in a hushed tone.
"But I just think she deserves to know. I mean,she really changed, they way she spoke yesterday the look in her eyes, it was scary," Mae said her tone returning.
"We'll tell her when she returns from school, okay?"
Dad said trying to sound calm but he wasn't in any way.
I decided to make my entrance. I wasn't planning on asking them what they spoke about.
It just hurts me that they want to keep it from me.
But that wasn't my problem, I was going to worry at least for today, at least for Lexi.
"Morning, I'm about to head out, so I'll see you in the afternoon, 2pm sharp,I guess but y'all won't find me in jail. At least not today,bye" I said rushing out.
"Wait...!!" Mae said her arms shot out.
" Have a nice day,if you need anything, anything at all,call me."
Why was she being nice to me? Was the guilt of not telling me what she wanted to that much?
Cut it out,I heard you guys,
I wanted to say.
But I couldn't, so instead,I said "Sure,no problem,"
Then I turned, going to meet Lexi in her car.
"Good morning boo" Lexi greeted cherily.
"Good morning,"
Lexi started the engine, looking directly on the road.
"Did you read half baked hearts?" Lexi asked.
"Yup, totally. I need a guy like Nate in my life."
Lexi laughed.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked feigning annoyance
"Me? I'm just happy today, that's all."
"But really, it just sucks. Charm? Fat? Those two words do not rhyme in my head. Because anytime I think of Charm, I think of axinna. I don't know why." Lexi said.
"Anytime I think of falling for Mr sundae, I think of you. Because, one, you're too in love to work in an ice-cream shop than get a job all your life."
"And anytime I think of where there's light, I remember you and Alan."
This time I actually smiled.
Why was that some how soothing my spirit?
" I can see a Kalan, coming to life."
"Of all the names to ship us with?"
"Not that you could think of something better plus that's going to be the name of your first child."
She stopped the car, looking at me.
"I'm so happy you're my best friend," She said.
I opened the door, taking my bag.
"But you have to agree, holding on to happy?" I asked Lexi.
"Taylor," We both said together, laughing briefly.
Getting out of the car with my best friend every day, happy this way was better than the anxiety I felt about what they had to tell me back home.

The bell rang, sending I and Taylor packing our bags.
"I'm so glad that's over," Taylor said
"You have no idea, tay," I said quickly walking to the cafeteria.
We both walked in and all eyes were suddenly on me,all eyes wide with horror.

"Why are they staring at me?" I asked.
"I'm wondering that too," Taylor replied.
We walked to our usual table only to be met with worried eyes.
"Uh, we need to tell you something." Axinna said.
"I'll tell her," Alan said.
"Can we talk? Uh, outside?"Alan said.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
"Come on," Alan said, walking ahead.
I followed him clearly still in the dark.
We were in the school corridor,not so far from the cafeteria.
"Um, you remember will?"

How could I forget? I couldn't. There was just no way I could forget.
"Kenzie, your shaking," Alan said, stating the obvious. " I don't think I can tell you. I haven't even said anything,and your shaking this much," he said.

"Like this?" I asked shakily.
"I can't do that,"
"William is out of jail,"
Those words struck like lightning.
He was giving life imprisonment. How come?
Different thoughts flooded my mind.

Alan looks at me for sometime, thinking for sometime.

"Only on one condition," Alan said smiling micheviously.

I look over at Alan who was singing like crazy with me.
he was already staring at me a smile on my face.

He reached over and squeezed my hand, still driving.
I let him. I didn't pull away.
And for a moment I forgot about will.
And it didn't last.
