A Once In A Lifetime

*Chapter 6*

A rapid knock was at Macy's door.

'Who could that be at this time of the night!' Macy wondered. She opened the door, and there stood Joey bundled up in his winter gear.

"How are you not cold?" He asked, worried.

Macy looked down at her blue tank top gown. It astounded her that even here, she would burn up, but yet Macy was comfortable.

"Just not," Macy replied and shrugged. Next, she stepped to the side to let Joey in. As he did this, she pressed the following. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, just checking- making sure that everything was alright?!" Joey conveyed.

"Well, I-I'm fine. No need to worry." Macy jest, but solemn.

A few days had passed.

Macy noted that Joey was acting strange, by unexpectedly ignoring her at times. Especially, when Jimmy was around. She knew the reason wasn't that he hated her or feared her. The rationale is that she understood about being so close together. It would be hard for Joey to control himself with an audience. For she had a difficult time also, but she repressed herself.

The desire for him was eating her up inside. She didn't differentiate how much she could take of his gorgeous smile and captivating eyes. For one glimpse made her knees buckle beneath her. Why it did was still a mystery to her.

The question she ponders is, why all these emotions? Was she not happily married? Macy felt deep down within herself and the happiness she was. Of course, you could love more than one person, nothing wrong with that! "Love everybody!"- Is her motto in life.

Another repeated inquiry she had was, 'Did Joey have these feelings as she did?' Macy's aghast halted her from asking. She decided it was non-urgent, and not best to bring up the subject.

Joey shivered and Macy responded with, "I'll make some hot cocoa."

"That would be awesome!" Joey mumbled in between chattering teeth.

They sat and sipped hot cocoa, talked and enjoyed each other's company.

Out of the blue, Joey threw a soft, small, pinkish ball at Macy. She retrieved it, followed by her examining it. Then, she tossed it back to him.

'What was that all about?' Macy pondered in puzzlement.

It wasn't long after that, Joey left and Macy finished her project. Soon after, she went to sleep. Tomorrow will be a distress day.

Finally, Macy's last day had come. She felt groggy since she stayed up half the night just to complete her art work.

Macy didn't know, but Joey had gone back to her trailer. He was on the verge to knock again, but restrained himself. Instead, he walked away promptly.

She was finishing up her packing and excited to go home, but sadden to leave. Yesterday, Macy had told her other family goodbye and mentioned to them she would miss them a lot. Jimmy and Joey were the last to say her goodbyes to.

Macy had just eaten a granola bar, while in wait.

Abruptly, a knock was heard. The guys had told Macy  they would take her to the airport to see her off.

"Come in," Macy commented, vociferously.

"Are you ready?"Joey quizzed.

"Yes." Macy answered, softly.
