AN / I wrote this for my English class like two years ago...
Niall has been away on tour for a couple of months, leaving Laura alone in their shared apartment in London. He called her the day before his flight went off, told her to be well dressed the next evening because he wanted to take her on a date, celebrating that he finally could be home with her. She asked him if he was sure that he wanted to go out on their first night together in four months which he responded to with a sure yes.
Here she was, her hair curled, nails painted and a red dress laying perfect over her curves. He was in their bathroom, getting ready himself. He felt nervous. He knew exactly why he wanted to go out with her on their first evening together. It wasn't a romantic gesture. He had slept with another women, back in the states when he and his band decided to go out after one concert.
He wanted to tell her that night. Maybe she would forgive him if he was honest towards her but maybe she would break up with him. The uncertainty was killing him. She always had a big heart. That was one of the first things he noticed about her when they started going out. She forgave people for the mistakes they made. He loved that so much about her, always trying to see every view of a problem from every perspective.
He already prepared his arguments to defend himself, of course he could only do that if she would let him explain it.
She was standing in front of the mirror that was hanging next to the entrance door as he made his way over to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and laid his head on her shoulder. "Ya ready to go love?'' He asked her and she nodded in response.
They made their way outside the building, walking to his car. He opened the car door for her. Once she was settled, he entered the car himself. The way to the restaurant was quieter. There was no weird tension but neither one was really in the mood to talk much that moment.
When they arrived at the restaurant, he intertwined their fingers while leading her inside.
Finally, they were sat down at their table and began to talk. Along the evening she laughed about his jokes and was overall in a pretty good mood. It was getting later, and he knew he had to tell her. Now. He cleared his throat to catch her attention and started talking.
"Laura I- I have to tell ya something.'' He nervously spoke. She gave him a confused looked, but he continued anyways. "Ya remember how I told ya when me and the lads went out to that big night club toward the end of the American leg?" She nods, urging him to get to his point.
"Well, there was this girl at the club, and I slept with her." He said, whispering the last part. He hoped that maybe she didn't hear him, but she did.
Her heart started beating faster and her breathing increased. She felt sad, betrayal, pain. Laura felt like her world shattered. She had told him before he left for the American leg that she wasn't feeling to well about him being there and now her worst fear had come true.
The pain she felt turned into anger. She couldn't believe what he just told her.
Everybody in the crowded restaurant stared when the young woman suddenly threw a glass of wine in his face. Niall looked shocked. Laura abruptly stood up and ran towards the door.
"Laura, come back, please." He shouted. But she had already reached the door. Niall ran after her. All the while it had started to rain outside. She ran out into the middle of the street.
"For God's sake, give me a chance to explain." He shouted. She turned around and stared at him. A car had just turned the corner and was coming towards her very fast. The driver had not turned his windshield whispers on, and he was talking to someone on his mobile. Then - suddenly - he saw her - directly in front of him, so close that he could see her eyes when she turned her head and looked at him.
AN / I just wanted to say that I got it finally back and I got an A :)
