A/N: Just to let you know, I've made a new girlfriend for Liam too (sorry Sophiam fans, but I kinda want to be in control of this one).

Zayn's POV:

How... could... I be such an idiot? I rage to myself as I leave Denise's flat. "Get your wits back, Zayn, you're getting reeled in too quickly..." I don't even know how I could have let myself get dragged around like that, even for a minute. But that girl is seriously worrying me now; who knows what sort of effect she's had on Harry? It gives me chills to think about; however, I'm glad I had the sense to get out of there before things got worse. It was almost as if... she had me under some sort of spell that only the sound of Perrie's voice could drag me out of.

Whatever the case, I don't think this girl is worth keeping for Harry. The problem is figuring out how to get that message across to him without him reacting in some weird way.

Five minutes later, I'm in my car, cursing myself for my stupidity. How could I have forgotten our party? I could have made it there in time, with no questions asked. But now they'll all be wanting to know where I was. And Perrie's already suspicious. A wave of guilt washes over me. She always becomes nervous when she sees me with other girls, even though I've told her millions of times that she's the one and only girl I love.

I'm so angry at myself for wasting the past hour in Denise's apartment that I jam my foot into the gas pedal and drive five mph over the speed limit. Sidewalks, pedestrians, and maple trees streak by the window as I screech around corners and swerve past other vehicles. By the time I pull up at Nando's, I've left a chorus of honking horns and flashing lights.

Maybe I've gone a little overboard.

I don't let it bother me. I march into the restaurant, sliding the back of my hand over my tall hair.

The rest of the lads, Harry, Liam, Louis, and Niall, are all sitting in a large booth near the back. Liam's girlfriend is with him, and I see Shaliene with Louis. On the end looking desperate is Perrie.

Harry turns his head, catches sight of me, and lets out a "HEY!" that catches the attention of the entire table, along with the surrounding diners who turn to glance at me, and then look away. The moment Perrie's eyes fall on me, some of the stress departs from her face, replaced with a look of relief.

I squeeze in next to her on the crowded bench. She turns to look at me, her lips about to form words that she can't voice. I smile and kiss her.

"Hey babe."

"Hey Zayn," she whispers. "Is everything..."

"Everything's fine," I reply quickly. "I was just giving Harry's girlfriend a talking-to. That's all."

Her tense face muscles relax. "Oh yes, Denise, right?"

"Right," I reply calmly, although there's a huge mound in my throat. How am I supposed to tell Harry that Denise just isn't the girl for him? Inadvertently, my eyes travel over to where he's sitting, crammed between Louis and Niall.

My voice low, I say to Perrie, "Are Harry and Louis still fighting?"

She looks genuinely confused. "No; no... they aren't. Not at all, really."

A weight lifts from my shoulders. I knew they wouldn't be mad at each other long, but Harry's texts definitely implied that he was concerned about the situation. Probably just one of their day skirmishes. They happen all the time, but Harry and Louis always seem to forget about them later on. I guess that's a good thing.
