"Curse you? Or curse myself for feeling this way?" Mila asked, looking into Connor's black eyes with her blueberry blue ones while he observed her face. It was so delicate: nose subtle, cheekbones round and present, chin oval with the littlest dent in the middle, so small that Connor hadn't even seen it before. Her upturned eyes were round and kind-looking, her skin so flawless as it glowed in the morning's first sunrays.
She was so different from him. His battered body was rough, hard, and full of scars, bruises, and marks of battle. It was heavy and muscled. Connor could easily squeeze her to death with his weight just by laying on top of her.
And her scent. Oh, how it had driven Connor mad in combination with the familiar drug scent of the vines! He had guessed destroying the drugs was no simple task, but he never expected it to be so difficult that he nearly lost it. It was wrong to take Mila with him. But then again, what other choice did he have? She had to show him directions to where this vineyard was. He had never been away from the ludus except for fights, another reason the humans would come in handy during this uprising.
Connor had felt so intoxicated, and his beast desperately wanted to have a taste of those drugs again as the fumes infiltrated his lungs. Like old times. When his beast couldn't have what it desired, it wanted something else. Something even more precious. So he had to order Mila to get out of there, or he might have consumed her; that's how badly the Alpha wanted her.
It took a while for him to calm down, but after that, he was quickly able to follow her tracks, only to find her having trouble with another beast.
The Lycan had never felt the way he felt when he witnessed Mila almost getting slaughtered by that bear. He had been so fucking scared. Scared to lose this puny, small human creature that was supposed to mean nothing to him. Yet, here he pathetically lay, completely at her mercy, within the warmth of her legs that were clasped against his hips. If Mila would tell him to take his own life to repay her for Darius's death, he might even do so.
He'd even forget his oath to never call a human his Master again. He'd call her his Mistress if she asked him to, right now, at this very moment, as he lay on top of her loud fast-beating heart.
It seemed he had gone from one addiction to another; the addiction to see, hear, and feel her. Every evening he had nurtured this new addiction while standing there in front of his window with his mouth open in awe, gazing at the other. And every day he'd become weaker. Connor hated himself for that. And now, it was even worse, as they were closer to each other than the distance between windows. It was good he had already killed Darius, because the Alpha might not have been able to do so after today.
Her body trembled underneath him while their hearts were beating simultaneously, rapidly, and heavily. Connor's eyes drew to her mouth, wanting to taste those full lips so badly, especially when she parted them, heavily panting, her breath cooling his overheated, damped face. He closed his eyes and gave in to his urges, pressing his lips against Mila's soft plump ones.
At last.
She tasted even better than he thought she would.
A soft high-pitched sound escaped her mouth in surprise, but soon her lips were as eager as his were, sucking and nibbling, while tongues explored each other's wet depths.
"Ahh," Mila gasped into his mouth, her hands grabbing his broad, muscular shoulders as he nuzzled away and buried his face into the nook of her neck, vigorously kissing her there, before his mouth brushed to her shoulder and tasted that too. The Alpha wanted to kiss and taste everything he could.
It was surreal: a Lycan, enslaved by the humans for decades, kissing one of those noble-born humans, yet they couldn't care less if this was insanity or not. They could go to hell for it and wouldn't care one fuck about it. Not at this moment. This was what they'd been lusting for these weeks.
