Angst towards the end, MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH.

Song fic// Violet - Cherry Bullet

Oh, hmm yeah
The view is always that road we used to pass by
But today is somewhat new
I keep on smiling because of you
I always remember you
How many times
Have I unconsciously smiled by myself today?

They knew each other from their younger days. Juvia was that girl who liked to play with flowers in the rain and chase pretty little butterflies in their front yard. Natsu was that aggressive little boy who never found it hard to make friends and enemies all in a day's work. That day on the playground with her big brother Gajeel made her realize just how special he would become to her. Natsu Dragneel, Juvia Locksers best friend. They looked out for each other, after all, they were neighbors. He would come out to walk with her and Gajeel to the playground, crossing that same road that they would dance in the street at. Natsu would laugh at her for going so fast as the cars honked and hassled.

Juvia never forgot him. A silly boy he was... She was heartbroken when they had to move away. Who would be her friend now? Teenage hood was rough and an unfortunate time of life. But she never forgot to smile, because of Natsu.

"You need to be happy! We'll always be best friends, no matter where you go..." Tiny Natsu crushed little Juvia in a hug as they walked away from the swings. "I love you, you know?"

Violet
You came into my heart
The day is just starting
And I already fell for you

Violet
The confession of love no one knows about
It's okay even if only you and I know
Another golden day
I love you violet

"I— I love you..." Juvia found herself saying to him one day after a walk in the park. Highschool love stories never really went how they were supposed to go but at least they had that time together... Natsu kissed her and told her that he loved her... it was true to the fullest. The sunset over the park across the street, that same neighborhood they lived in as kids, soon becoming the memories of their life. It was hard to leave...

Natsu hadn't changed much in that decade of being apart. Neither had Juvia. To him, she was still that shy, butterfly chasing little girl who was scared to cross the street. He was happy she hadn't changed. If he was being honest, he loved her just the way she was. His silly exterior may have wronged him but at least he was what she wanted. Juvia wasn't his type and Natsu wasn't hers according to the ones around them but to each other, they were just perfect. He wanted her for so long, he wanted to keep their love private. Nothing could ruin it.

You, your so many charms
Every time I discover each of them
I'm falling in love everyday

He's so lovely. He's so bright and radiant, boisterous and sweet. Juvia has always been happy with him like that. His aggressive nature was something she had to get used to but it made him who he was to her. Everything about him was everything she needed in someone. She never thought anyone could ever replace him. It was a night, where she felt like forgetting everything. Natsu always held her in his arms, that idiot, her caring fool. He was by no means shy but she couldn't help but notice his pink face when he would look at her. Natsu's grin would always be the highlight of her day. She felt unstoppable then.

I love you
And you make me clueless
With those two eyes that stare at me intently
I'm clueless

It was the way she looked at him that made him feel so loved yet insecure all at the same time. Her smiling face when he could be simply doing nothing, her bright eyes when he talked to her... He felt clueless, lost, unsure and disbelieving. Natsu had so much doubt in him but he knew it was all for him. Maybe it was guilt? He didn't know but he loved the feeling of her just being near him. It was unexplainable really.

I love you Violet.

In a field of violets and roses, he holds her hand tight, a goodbye pulling on his lips. It was only in dreams that they could be together because he never got to be with her again. She was murdered when they were teens, her reckless mother and father failing to think about their daughter. Now here he was, years later, still feeling the guilt, the denial as he sat by her grave. His imagination got the best of him and now, he was left to pick up the pieces of her that were left with him. Her parents were locked up, the house had been sold to another and that same park was lonely.

Juvia was gone but his love for her remained. All he could do now was reminisce on older memories with her. He would wait until he could see her again. But for now, the woman loved the flowers and the rain was just a reopening wound. Cruel world it was...

He stood up, a strangled breath leaving him.

"I love you, Violet."
